Going there in July, staying at a mates apartment, any places/things to do you can recommend? I'm (a young) 44 and he's 33, we are going to restaurants, the odd beech party, jet ski etc, anywhere else we should check out?

Look for excursions to Ronda or Granada, take the train to Malaga, get the local bus to Mijas. Look for tapas bars : there's a main E-W road splits the town in two. The Spanish part is north of this road, and is a good place to find eating places. The menus del dia are usually real bargains - three course, bread and wine for around €12.

One thing you could miss is Gibraltar. Apart from a van ride up the Rock, it's not that interesting a place. Rather like Dorking, really.

You could take a day trip to Gibralter. Costs around 33 Euro each and includes the rock tour.

Check the time queueing @ customs to get back though. Can be hours.

Had a great holiday in Fuengirola, lovely beach, couldn't walk on the sand without wearing sandals, because the sand was so hot it brunt your feet.
