After Dermot read out Ben's number at the end of his performance Ben ran over to the judges desk and started speaking to Mel.

I wonder what that was all about?

    Maybe apologising for and clarifying his VT comments. Probably some creative editing had been applied to make his comments seem harsher/ruder than they actually were.

    Thought that too. Noticed a few of the VT's were like that tonight. OTY had a particularly bad VT
