the spec seems somewhat confusing, based on what i've been trying to look up over the past 45 minutes or so.

it's this ..

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Onda-Vi40-Ultimate-9-7-inch-IPS-Screen-Android-4-0-tablet-PC-WIFI-HDMI-16GB-/281005050856?pt=UK_iPad_Tablets_eReaders&hash=item416d34cbe8#shId

Now the spec that the seller has cut and pasted gives the impression it's a single core, yet this on amazon, which appears to be the same model, says it's dual core ..

http://www.amazon.co.uk/New-Onda-Vi40-Dual-core/dp/B007IH40YU

Just wondered what people thought ?

Is it the same ? thankyou nice DS folk who are up at this time of night :D

I don't think there the same model, One of the reviews on Amazon said that the review was about the single core version, so that could well be what the ebay one is.

I was coming to the same conclusion to be fair.

although in my sheer impatience and inability to wait for my tablet coming from china, i'm getting rather tempted by this ..

    http://www.hannspree.com/HSPV3Web/Global/Product/TabletPC/HANNSpad/SN10T1/Specification.aspx

I can pick one up for £125 quid from CEX and have it in my sweaty little mitts today, rather than another fortnight's wait for the momo8 that's on it's way. And the hannspad does seem to be a better spec overall anyway, apart from obviously only having 512mb ram against the momo8's 1gb.

But then the hannspad is fully rootable and flashable as well so that's another point in it's favour.

And when the momo8 eventually arrives, i can easily stick it on ebay as new and probably make back the bulk of what i'd spend on the hannspad.

why am i so impatient? :)

i've never had a tablet before but now I seem to want to have one now rather than wait for it ..

But for an extra 4 quid you could get a Kindle fire. Might be a better bet?

fair point indeed, but it's the screen size i'm after. and looking at the specs, the hannspad does seem to be better under the hood processor-wise.

screen resolution is the same and the hannspad has a tegra 2 GFX chip as well.

the main difference from a hardware perspective seems to be the RAM and the fact that the kindle fire has an IPS screen.

    They are different tabs. The Onda vi40 comes in three flavours; elite, ultimate and dual core. I have the dual core model. Although it's not without it quirks I'm very happy with it. See here for dual core reviews;

    thanks :)

i'm edging ever closer to going to get that hannspad today though. some of the custom roms i've seen have looked very nice, and you can also get a version of jellybean on it as well.

oh fate you can be such an arse :)

so the postman came earlier on and dropped off some random rubbish. heard him clomping downstairs and then a few seconds later, heard him clomping back UP stairs.

he knocked at the door and presented me with a card informing me that i've got a package waiting at the local delivery office that had been sitting in the basket underneath the main door, in amongst all the pizza menus.

looking at the date on it, i noticed that it was delivered LAST WEEK ..

So the tablet i've been desperately impatient for has been sitting on my sorting office for a WEEK. A BLOODY WEEK ! :D

So i'm back now and i've got it in front of me. A quick whizz around google play and i find, much to my delight, it's pre-rooted so titanium here we come ..

I may be some time ...

balls. apparently the momo8 doesn't support class 10 cards, but i've got one plugged in and it detects it as "ExtSD" in the "Storage" option - doesn't move the apps to it though .. will have to trade it for a class 6 as it apparently supports those

I've no idea what you're talking about here; believe it or not I'm quite techy compared to my peers - I'm not admitting what age that is hehe. I'm glad you got your tablet though, have fun :D

heh, thanks. I have a 32gb Micro SD card that I had for my Galaxy S2 before I upgraded to a 64gb one, and it's a class 10 which is supposed to be the fastest speed, but apparently this tablet doesn't actually support class 10 cards just yet, so i'll have to get a slower one - would rather do a straight swap but i suspect i'll invariably have to shell out more money.

I'm just looking for some good tablet-based apps now.

rather pleased with myself as i've managed to get wifi direct up and running between the tablet and my lg blu-ray player so i can just squirt videos, pics and the like straight across to it :)
