If this is the wrong place sorry ( feel free to move mods)but a quick question about News 24 this morning 27/12
When they showed Philip leaving hospital his car number plate was pixalated (sp?) as they often do with number plates on the news but secaonds later while they were talking in the studio they ran the visuals from the clip and talked over them with the number plate fully visible Why? mistake , gaffe or what:confused:

I can never understand why they do this as when the Royal Family travel around their car number plate is seen by many thousands of people live, so why obscure it on TV. I can understand them doing it for lesser known people and celebrities when travelling in their private cars as they do not normally travel with full security escort.

I suppose it would not sound good if someone attacked HRH's car and they said they had found out the number plate from BBC News. Much of the time they will be travelling around with either no escort or just a single unmarked car escorting them so not conspicuously Royal.

But its very easy to find out royal number plates - e.g. NLT10 and NLT2 was the queen mothers and OXR1 is Prince Philips

And we all know that the queen doesn't have one anyway!
