:D:D Reading this thread is hilarious. I cant turn the telly off this face-palm programme, but I just came on here to see if others were as gobsmacked as me.
He's marrying a 60 (looks far older) woman and wants a baby? And the sum IQ of these muppets would be in the double figures.
I should be outraged that we're paying for them, but at the moment I'm still laughing at some of the posts, while trying to keep my mouth shut as it's been permanently open in disbelief that such people can be a) so ignorant and b) just exist.

    Unbelievable!

They don't exist. It's all just been a terrible, terrible dream....... or a nightmare! :o:D

Cos they are sat on their BOTTOMS all day, smoking like a chimney, and 'facebooking' every 10 minutes.

They need Keith 'Cheggars' Chegwin to pay them a visit. He DOES do dishes..... ;-)

I got slightly confused at that point. I'm sure he said he'd been brought up in that house and his childhood pets had been buried in the garden - but then it sounded as if they'd been evicted before? It wasn't very clear - or maybe I just misheard it.

I heard that too. I suppose they could have been evicted when he was younger. He had his mum, but no mention of a dad

    No it isn't

Most of us are trying really hard to find work and get off benefits, just a shame programs like this are too one sided and tar the genuine claimants with the same brush as these layabouts

They never, ever focus on the genuine people who are on benefits, only on the minority who milk the system and so give everyone else on benefits a bad name.

Katie Hopkins would have them all up for execution. Come to think .... Surely at the very least there are plenty of toilets in Medway they could all be put to work in to pay for their benefits.

:p Ah, A Bobby Ewing scenario.

To the posters who think people take this as representative of all job seekers, I certainly don't, nor do most I would think. It's C5 for goodness sake. Just another comedy show bought to you by Britain's classiest channel.

But for deluded 'wannabe' actors like Richard in the programme, cleaning bogs would be so beneath him!?!?

With these people, why should they get up at an ungodly hour, in the freezing cold, pissing it down, for 'bugger all' per hour. Quite simply, no incentive to work when sitting on you bum all day, you can at least 'sort of' get by.

They are all mostly overweight and as smokers, they'd never make it up there!

It would get them into healthy living though!

Hear hear! But remember.....we live in soft touch Britain. Do the right thing and work yourself into a grave.....paid peanuts. Sat on your bum, with ample supply of ****, booze and sky television.... Rewarded with a 'free money' from Her Majesty's government. >:(

The mum doesn't seem to have a clue, so now it explains why her son lives in cloud cuckoo land about being an actor.

His mum seems overwhelmed with her paperwork and has only gone to the CAB to seek advice once she is 'roughly' 2 grand in debt with her rent.

What's all that about? Why would any sane person leave it that long?

And to think, he had the bloody cheek to turn down a porn movie! YOU'VE GOTTA START SOMEWHERE SON!.....(as my old dad would say!). Oh well....never mind, until Hollywood call, here's another benefits cheque. See you same time next week!

Mollycoddle Britain....don't it make you proud! I've gone all warm & fuzzy. :D

These people were basically put on the tele so people can laugh and take the mickey out of them

For want of a better phrase its clear as day some of them arent 'full shillings'

Cheap, tacky, easy to make quite frankly pathetic tv

    Human equivalent of bear baiting

I just can't even watch these programs anymore. I used to find them kind of interesting, I mean they are a glimpse into a lifestyle, that but for the grace of god, go I, do not have to live in at the moment.

However, much of it is just finding the worst system abusers on the planet (not the rich ones of course, just the poor ones) and parading them like some sort of freak show, while offering absolutely no real solutions to issues that are brought up.

Also never broached by these shows, and of course why would it be, they are tabloid trash shows, is the fact that very few economies are actually set up for full employment. There must be, absolutely has to be, a certain level of unemployment. If there aren't, inflation tends to get out of control.

Of course, if the rich aren't paying their fair share of tax, and corporations are using the tax system like a twisted form of frogger, the middle class is having to pick up the tab for welfare payments to support the rest who either can't work, due to disability or a lack of job vacancies, or those who refuse to work due to laziness (which I think must be such a minuscule minority).

The systems are broken. World leaders across the globe refuse to bring the wealthy and corporations in line and force them to meet their obligations to society, and the trickle down/through message that's being sold is pure unadulterated rubbish.

Something eventually is going to give though. If people are not given welfare when they can't/won't work, they will commit crime. The crime will get progressively worse and the middle class will be the ones to suffer the most from this. Not only will they have to pay for more prisons, but will end up having to pay for peoples meals and accommodation and health inside these prisons.

Cracking down on pensions, just isn't the answer. It's not the magic bullet to the problems of society or in fact the problems of the budget. Cracking down on tax evasion is part of the solution.

    Just my opinion.

The state of the places they live in made me feel sick. As usual they all smoked and had black or no teeth.

They have nothing nice to show yet are in debt so it makes me curious as to what the benefits are spent on. Is it all wasted on ****, booze and takeaways?

I certainly don't. I think most of us realise these are 'bottom of the barrel' examples and certainly not the norm.

I've just made the link between their terrible teeth and the chain smoking. :o
    DOH!
Virtually every time they were shown they had a **** or a roll-up in their gobs.
I know it can make your fingernails yellowed, not to mention what it does to the inside of you - but it's probably also a terrible habit for oral health.

No wonder none of them probably visit a dentist EVER - because their teeth are shot to u-know-what - and the dentist would probaby advise them to quit! HEAVEN FORBID! :o

    Medway's not great, is it?

This guy who thinks that he's going to be an actor is truly deluded.

It's nice to have a dream - but in saying he wants to be a Hollywood star, without ever (AFAIK) having had any drama lessons or done any work as an extra, etc. he's aiming way too high.
He might just as well say he wants to be an astronaut or a Formula 1 driver - these are not jobs that are usually accessible to the general public.

I think he just got an idea in his head, bless him - and then stuck with it - but you have to also have realistic alternatives for other jobs in the meantime.

Saying all that though, most of the time he seemed quite happy playing computer games, etc. - not actually doing any job applications.
