    For me, no other cereal beats cornflakes - Kellogg's only - with ice cold milk. Beautiful!

    The process of making flakes of corn (hence; cornflakes) was already established.

    Kellogg patented that process. Do you have any source indicating that the process was established earlier? Perhaps you're thinking of wheat flakes?

    Also in Battle Creek, Charles W. Post created Grape-Nuts in 1898. They were called that because they contained maltose, which Post called "grape sugar", and he thought the flavour reminded him of nuts :)

    Havent had Grape-Nuts in ages, I fancy some :)
