Has anyone else been following this story? I read about it the other day & its been troubling me ever since.

His blog is here.

It seems so foolhardy to have traveled to this part of Mexico in the first place, I just can't understand it. And his poor mother is so heartbroken.

I hope there is a happy ending here, somehow.

    Like you say, huge areas of Mexico are extremely dangerous, I don't know about the particular area he was in but he's pretty foolish if that is one of them.

    It was in Michoachan

    He was travelling to the coast to see the beach where the reunion scene from Shawshank redemption was filmed

    You'd have to say he was extremely foolish to say the least then. Should have stuck with Cancun.

    Motor cycling through an area that even the military says is too dangerous? He must have liked living dangerously. A happy ending in these circumstances will be to hope he has been kidnapped rather than murdered which must be terrible for his poor family.
