Hi everyone. So i'm holding a eurovision party in three weeks time and i am putting on a buffet. My idea is to have finger food from as many european countries as possible.

I already have some ideas:

Cyprus - haloumi cheese
Germany - sausage
Greece - salad
Italy - pizza
Sweden - meetballs
Belgium - waffles

I want to be able to buy the food in supermarkets or have a simple recipe

Can anyone think of food associations with any the following countries?:

Austria
Czech republic
Bulgaria
Finland
Albania
Bosnia & Herzegovina
Estonia
FYR Macedonia
Georgia
Hungary
Iceland
Ireland
Israel
Latvia
Lithuania
Luxembourg
Malta
Moldova
Montenegro
Portugal
San Marino
Serbia
Slovakia
Slovenia
Switzerland
Turkey
Ukraine
United Kingdom
Spain
Russia
Romania
Netherlands
Norway
Poland
France
Denmark
Croatia
Belarus
Azerbaijan
Armenia

Cyprus and Croatia aren't in the Eurovision Song Contest 2014

    Sounds a great idea though!

Eurovision is crap and is meant for countries that don't have proper music industries, we really shouldn't take it seriously in the UK.

Greece = Salad - what's that all about, when did Greece become famous for salad?

If it's for Eurovision, you just need cheese for each country.........

    Greek salad duh.

Do you really think we take it seriously? No we do not. Look at the artists and songs that have participated for us the past few years.

And stay away if you're not going to contribute anything to my question.

You're taking it seriously enough to hold a party in its honour.

And again, when did Greek Salad become a recognised dish? Try Moussaka, Kleftiko, Giro's, Stifado, Keftedes, Tzatziki, Taramasalata etc, etc.

Writing my own list for food now! Planning a big shop in the Tesco world foods section later :)

I'm going with the obvious 'Pizza' for Italy too, because last time people tended to avoid the crazier foods - roll mops are banned this time around.

I'm with you - having a piss-take party is far from 'taking it seriously'!

I would add Swiss Roll to your list ;)

    Salad is easier to spell.
