I wouldn't try to argue it's fresh or as good as The Office/Extras, but if the rest of the series is like tonight's episode...it's decent enough. Not at all bad for a third sitcom, better than many comedies on TV.
But of course it will be controversial and harshly judged, because it's Gervais-Merchant.
Expected to hate this and missed last week's episode but I've laughed constantly throughout this week's. Luv the secretary. She's a casting triumph. And Warwick Davies has great comic timing. Merchant & Gervais need to drop the 'star' turns though. Depp's scenes felt a bit flat.
