This time it's going to be set in the Himalayas, have rideable elephants & another crazy bastard as a baddie :D

I was pleasantly surprised by Far Cry 3. It was a game I bought just because I wanted something different to play, not because it was a game I had been excited about but it turned out to be one of my favourite games on PS3. Here's hoping this continues upon the success of it's predecessor

    isn't Far Cry 3 still fairly recent? time must be flying, I didn't expect the next instalment this early

    It's 2 years, Nov 2012. Not a bad turnaround. Could be worse and it be a yearly rehash.

    Awesome!!!!!

    I, too, was surprised by how great FC3 was.
    Releasing on old gen is disappointing though, as it sounds like old gen capabilities just ported to current gen, so still we wait for that current gen only release cycle.

    Oh...and I'll be preordering this NOW !!!!! :)

    A bit disappointed by that myself. But can understand it. Last gen still has the numbers and we'll see multi-gen games for a while yet.
    As long as some games are only current gen. ME4, Fallout 4, UC4, Halo 5, Gears reboot.

    I would have prefered Ubisoft to maybe get 2 teams working on the game one for last gen and one for current gen. Really hope it's not scaled down.

    Me too. Actually, I was hoping it would by current gen only and NOT last gen.
    I suspect it will be scaled down which may ultimately end up hurting this series after the huge success of FC3

    ...and I'm still preordering NOW :)

    Nah wouldn't think it would be.

    Try looking at vids of Far Cry 3 maxed out on PC. That is what you should be expecting for the PS4 and XB1. The old consoles will just get a scaled down in terms of graphics and stuff version.

    Would love them to remake FC3 on the new consoles as I think it would be pretty good :)

    Finally a game that might be worth buying a PS4 for. All we need now is Portal 3 and a proper Borderlands 3.

    Awesome - loved FC3 and the setting here looks cool.

    With this and Assassins it looks like Ubisoft will be owning my Christmas

    Finish it. One of the best games of 2012.

    Just had a look thru my trophies, from what I can tell I'm very close to the end, the last mission trophy was kill vass, so I assume that's fairly close.

    This has inspired me to finish it :D

    I hope the include co-op missions again. I really enjoyed the ones in Far Cry 3. It's actually one of a handful of games I've played online co-op

    I always enjoy the inclusion of co-op but I hope they put more effort in this time around if they do bring co-op to Far Cry 4. FC3 was a fun open world game which would have been awesome in co-op but instead we got limited linear missions which went against everything the single player offered.

    I am looking forward to this, I really enjoy the Far Cry franchise.

    Think they have finally got the Far Cry games right, now they know what people liked and disliked about the games and got it right with FC3.

    I can't wait for FC4.

    can't wait for this, have all the far cry games anf think they have all been very good. Just hope they keep the hand gliders

    for all its faults I rated Far Cry 2 very highly, let alone FC3. the only concern I have with this one is the seemingly short development time. Games like this seem to take a hell of a long time to make, for good reason.

    Really? I thought FC3 was marred by the unlikeable player character, and by various jarring choices in the world. It was intended as satire, but that didn't work. FC2 had similar pretensions (the player missions are mostly doing evil things for hire, such as destroying water sources), and FC3 goes even more over-board with it. I'm hoping they step back from that in FC4 and just make it a good game. (Or else get the satire right this time. I don't object to them putting male rapes in a game if they judge it right.)

    FC1 was under-rated. It had a better story and graphics and physics that were well ahead of the curve (it came out long before Half-Life 2), without the politics.
