Hard drive upgrade with PS+

I've been looking around for some definitive info on upgrading my hard drive in relation to PS+

My drive (250gb) is full so I have bought a 1tb drive to tide me over until I get my PS4. What I would like to know is weather I can get away with not backing up my current disk, installing the new disk and then letting PS+ restore my saves and trophies automatically.

I think most ( if not all) of my save games save to PS+. I'm happy to re down load the actual games from PSN or reinstall from disk as required. I do have spare disks I could use to back up to but it will require a bit of juggling of data which I would rather not do if I don't need to.

So is this all possible? Is there anything I need to consider?

As long as you do a full sync for the trophies and saves before you replace it then yeah sure, you can start a fresh and then grab what you want again from the cloud storage and re-sync your profile, from there on it's just a case of downloading all the stuff again and getting everything back to how you like it.
