Can you identify this drama?!

I've just said over on the Empathy thread that there were scenes in it that reminded me of another drama. The trouble is at the moment I can't remember which drama it was - and it's really starting to annoy me. The scenes I'm thinking of go like this:
Woman in kitchen, talking and joking with a male neighbour. The neighbour suddenly walks up behind her, places his hands on her hips and moves as if to kiss her.
As far as I remember the scene then cuts to the woman's husband coming home. She's obviously upset and just says the neighbour's name to him.
The husband storms over to the neighbour's house where he's out in the front garden or working on his car and beats seven shades of you know what out of him.
I think there's also a scene where the husband is supposed to have been released from prison and goes to try apologise but the neighbour says something like "Leave me alone you nutter!" and runs off inside. (Although I could be getting that mixed up with another drama - all these police things start to merge into one after a while!)
Ring any bells with anyone? The obvious suspects for me are Cracker, Waking the Dead, The Ruth Rendell Mysteries, Taggart and A Touch of Frost. I'm sure it's something made a few years ago, not in the last couple of years.

Oooh. Now you've got me wondering. That does sound familiar. Let me ponder...

Hmmm. I didn't really watch that. I think I saw one or two of the first series but I'm not keen on either of the actors ... but I'm not dismissing it. Thanks for the suggestion.
Edit: I'm starting to wonder if it might even be a scene from a film now. In which case it might be American. Deary me.
aaarghh - I'm going to end up being unable to sleep now!!

Well, you know, I do believe in spreading the torture.
Right, if you think it's a BBC one then Waking the Dead is still in the running or ... oooh... Dalziel and Pascoe maybe. I could've sworn it was older than a couple of years because I feel I've watched that scene more than once. I've possibly seen it again more recently on UKTV Drama.
Then there's Murphy's Law as well. If I could just bring an actor's face to mind it'd help!

I didn't watch Sorted. Oh dear.
And in the scene I'm thinking the guy is scared of the other one.
I was talking to my Mum about it earlier and she said she thought it was The Street, but I still think it was some kind of police thing.
The torture continues ...

Yeah...well, there is a scene where the husband goes for the bloke the wife's had a fling with but I'm sure in the scene I remember where the neighbour approaches the wife she's not expecting him to touch her.
Thanks kemlyn - that makes sense and fits in with my idea that it's something I've seen more than once. Thanks again!
