I always liked him and part of his appeal was his 'nice family man' persona. I'm actually disappointed in him. I thought he was better than that.... obviously he isn't. I believe he'll lose a lot of fans after this.

They've milked the popularity of Bake Off for all its worth, sadly, and now he's believing his own hype....and irresistibility to other women, by the looks of things.

He always praises his wife a lot in interviews, but the marriage split is a predictable outcome.

This might cost him dear. People will see him in a whole new light as his popularity was down to his homely appeal. I hope Mary has given him a good talking to!

Oh what a surprise. Gets himself noticed on telly and then ditches the person who has stuck by him for years. Well I hope she takes him to the cleaners and he ends up peddling his "baking ware range" (that he will NO doubt bring out soon) on the QVC wannabe channels at 2am when no one is watching.

I actually never liked him as I don't like the way he makes bread. (sad aren't I?) I had to turn off his baking show as everything he did really annoyed me and couldn't watch TGBB because I found him so up himself LOL :)

(and he doesn't look like the Master from Dr Who.. I so fancied him when I was growing up!) :D

I hope she gives him enough time to "rise" in a warm place, nothing worse than a badly baked baguette with a soft limp outer crust. :D

I'm not really surprised, I started to go off him in series 2 of the bake off, he was getting way too cocky (scuse the pun ;))

Mary is the real star of the show, not ole blue eyes.

I think he is gorgeous! not surprised with the news today but I did think the "other woman" would be Mel - lots of photos of them at awards looking very very cosy- are they showing the American bake off equivalent over here?

A few months ago I saw a very old cookery programme with A very young Paul Holywood and equally young James Martin. They both came across as the biggest sleazes going.

Yes Mary is the star of the show. One decent hard working woman who does not let her success across many years go to her head. I wonder what she makes of it all.
