That accent only exists in parts of glasgow at a push
Not even there. Nobody in Scotland says 'me' for 'my'. In a broad Scottish accent, 'ma' would be more authentic. To be fair, it was only a daft BB task, so nobody expects perfection, but it really didn't sound like an authentic accent from any part of Scotland.

Agree.
Many actors study Scots accent, but forget that each of us have our own lingo and phrases.
Ayrshire and Edinburgh for example always say seeven...and eleeven.....and ken.
But Glaswegians never say any of these phrases and actually say them exactly as our English counterparts....as in Eleven, Seven and know. ;-)
it was pathetically generic and had no resemblance to any regional Scottish accent I've ever heard...typical drama school this is what 'they' sound like training. Its similar to someone doing the Queen and saying that's an 'English accent' they all sound like that
Nonsense! I'm from Glasgow, and I thought her accent was brilliant!
Claire's brilliant, I'm glad we're starting to see a bit more of her personality now...She seems like a lot of fun, I hope we get to see even more of her.
Claire is an excellent actress, and as she's shown tonight, very diverse. She was utterly fabulous as ruthless bitch Kim Tate in Emmerdale - I'll always remember that character, the best in the history of soap tbh.
She's not an excellent actress, if she was she'd get offered parts that would go to dame Judi or Helen mirren.
She played a classic soap bitch, it's like playing the dame in panto, you know, like Biggins does.

She is definitely not a fool. Below Audley she is behaving well and being natural. Apart from her slightly forced laugh that seems to be a bit " isn't it all hilarious" she's faultless.
Intelligent, emotionally stable, reasonable and controlled. I didn't expect to like her but she's fine.

Ah Glasgow the centre of all that is good about Scotland NOT so you must be right...'aggression bigotry smiles better'.....go listen to Kevin Bridges he has used material on how the Glasgow accent has changed to its laughable Finlay and Fraser type inhabitants......perhaps you should explore your city more:D
Some weird comments! She was asked on the spot! If she was given a role where the accent was required I'm sure she was would take the time to work on an authentic accent!
Full marks to her for giving it her all. She's coming across well so far!
Bull! I am Scottish, and have a lot of family who live on the west coast who sound like that. Glasgow, Ayr, Kirkcubright to name a few off the top of my head. Her accent was fabulous!
I live on the west coast and it wasn't any accent I recognised. Sounded like she was going to burst into Donald where's yer troosers at one point.
Does it really matter if it was 100% authentic or not?
A lot of Scots on here claim it was pretty good, it sounded pretty good to me. I think most people got the gist that she was Scottish - it was impromptu and off the cuff.
I don't think she went to acting school and 'specialised' in Scottish accents - why is it necessary to nit pick?

I'm with you in liking both Audley and Claire. I liked Leslie too at first but suspected 'hidden diva' - I appear to be correct there.
I posted earlier on that I wondered if Claire had those traits too. So far she doesn't appear too. I think she's lovely but I don't hold too much hope for her getting too far - a lot of the time 'middle aged' women don't fare well on CBB for some reason.
I don't know about the authenticity of her accent but I was in the next room when she was doing the audition and I thought it was a man, not just when she did the Scottish accent.
Some comments appear to be looking for fault with her Scottish accent, she was put on the spot & in my opinion did a brilliant job & even better it was such a joy to watch something funny & light hearted.
It doesn't matter if you work in soaps or Hollywood. If you're a good actor you're a good actor. Not all Hollywood 'legends' are good actors.
I'm not talking about Hollywood legends though, I'm speaking about talented actresses who can tackle a wide range of roles. I didn't say anything of the sort so your counter comment is stupidly put completely making you appear extremely foolish.
Dench and Mirren, together with Blethyn, Smith, Thompson are not Hollywood legends, they are jobbing actresses who have worked in films because they can operate at many levels. They also tour with plays and perform in TV shows etc,
Claire is not an excellent actress, she has one trick and it's a silly OTT bitch role. That's all there is to it.

Please don't be rude as there is no need to be. I do not appear extremely foolish at all thank you. My opinion differs from yours that all.

You were / are wrong. You do look foolish because I wrote something that was very easy to understand and you were not able to understand and made a completely irrelevant point, now THAT is rude.

Still funny though.

Oh yes, I have a few rellies in Port Glasgow and I recognised the accent.
'See you, Jimmy, ya wee fukn bassa, haud ya fukn weesht'. Whadya think? Authentic or what?
