9200T: A few questions about recording

Took delivery of a 9200T, my first PVR, last Friday; am I impressed or am I impressed? Don't know how I've managed without a PVR for so long. I've been playing with it all weekend but there's a few things I need a bit of help with.
Is there any way to save the TSR buffer recording as a permanent recording? Just in case I'm using the wrong terminology, what I mean is, for example, you start watching a programme and the Hummy records it in the 2 hour buffer but supposing you intended to record it as well, but forgot, or decide part way through that your other half might want to see the programme, is there a way to save it as though it was a programmed recording?
When watching a saved recording and press Stop it remembers where you had watched to so when you continue watching it plays from there. Great feature, but when you get to the end of the programme but not the end of the recording (e.g. where the prog ends a couple of minutes before the scheduled time) is there any way to stop it remembering where you had got to so, for example, when someone else comes to watch the recording it starts from the beginning? The only way I've found is to use FF to run to the end.
I've noticed that recordings made by pressing OK in the programme guide seem to stop a few seconds short of the scheduled time, e.g. a programme that runs from 18:00-18:30 shows as 18:00-18:29:45 when you play it back. Why is this (or am I misunderstanding something)?

1) Yes you can do this. Curiously you have to rewind to the place you want recording to start, press record, then you go back to where to were in the program.
2) If you pause the program, you can use the <> arrows on they 'joypad' to move a cursor back and forth along the playline. this is an easy way to skip to the beginning / end.
3) This is a little annoying. There is a solution in the pipeline, called 'autopadding', but it's still in beta testing at the moment.

Press the RECORD button on the remote controller to record the current programme instantly. The product will record the live broadcast feed, so if you are watching a time-delayed recording, the recorder will not save what you are currently watching
Which I took to mean that it will record from the current real time position.
Thanks. son_t's suggestion of pressing Play twice seems even easier (my DVD player achieves the same thing by pressing Stop twice).
Yes, I've read about the new autopadding feature, but that is for adding extra time at the start/end to allow for the programme starting early/overrunning isn't it? I don't understand why it doesn't record to the scheduled end time. OK, it's only a few seconds, but it might be significant if a programme is running late. Are you saying it's a bug (son_t's reply suggests that it's by design).
I thought that about what it says in the manual. I guess the manual must be wrong on this one.
Yeah... I reckon it's a bug. It may be by design, but I would say that the houskeeping should be done after the recoding is finished. It is annoying I know. When I said about the autopadding, I just mean it is a potential workaround. You could add 1 minute to the end of all recordings for example.
They may fix this... you never know.
Re recordings the machine seems to use the last few seconds of the timer for the recording as time to organise any other recording set to start at the time the other stops. This is not unusual for hard disk DVDR PVRs and dont look at it as a bug but rather than the way manufacturers get things to work. If schedules were kept spot on by broadcasters then it shouldnt be a problem as overwhelmingly the last part of a programme is showing credits or link to the programme scheduled on for starting in the next slot (in you example at 18:30. Its the over running of schedules by broadcasters that cause is a big problem for PVR and magnifies the issue. Autopadding will get around some of this by allowing the user to decide how much the PVR should add on to a scheduled recording time in case broadcasters over run by a minute or a few minutes.
Once you have rewinded to the point you want the instant recording to start and press record, you can return to the "live feed" position in two ways. Press play and use the <> to return to the positon from which you want to watch, this, I believe is faster than fast forward. Or press stop, the first press of stop effectively clears the delay buffer and returns you to the live feed point. If you press stop again you are asked if you want to stop a recording which is in progress!
What a machine!!

Others have already answered this but it is worth adding a note of caution. If you rewind a program to record it from the beginning, make sure that you check the program info first. If the program you want to record has started early the Humax will think you want to record the previous program and the recording will cut short. (This applies to all instant recordings, not just when you rewind the buffer.) You can check this by pressing the "i" (program information) button. You can also add extra time to the end of the recording if it is running late by pressing record again (this last part is in the manual).
