Eurosport Player HD channel does not play in IE8?

Only just started using Eurosport Player again in readiness for the new bike racing season and I cannot get the HD channel to play in IE8 (either on Vista 32 on the laptop or on Vista 64 on the desktop). It just sits there with the loading graphic doing its thing.
The ES1 and ES2 channels play in standard, high, or highest qualities and VoD plays too. It is just the live HD channel which I have a problem with.
Plays OK in Firefox but that does not remember my subscription login details which is a pain.
Anyone else got any experience of this?
