    It seems to just be a minority that dislike it... so I think it should continue for those who do enjoy watching it.

    This was THE best of the recent Christmas specials. Great to Anthony back - he really was the star of the show.

    Denise and Dave are incredibly weak characters now though.

    I thought it was excellent.... Best in years. Just the right amount of laugh v pathos moments. All characters had some good one liners...hope they get some good press for this one.

    But the acting has become so caracaturish dont ya think? all the characters are one dimensional clones of their 1998 - 2000 selves

    Not to mention the script was cringey as hell

    It should have ended with Nanas death

    For me it was a spectacular return to form. Well done the Beeb and the writers, cast and crew. Loved it.

    Agree with some of the above comments; Dave has just got too slow and stupid to be believable now and overall it will take something to beat the original 2 or 3 series, but this special was far better than the one or two other recent specials and is the closest there's been to the original runs, only that we know the formula much more.

    Yep the Dyson one was an obvious one and so was the obvious slip about the proposal after everyone had been told about it & "not to say anything/tell anyone".

    However there's only so much you can do if you follow this route in comedy imo.

    A big improvement on the last couple of specials where it sort of turned into a parody of itself ..
    However I guessed quite a few of the jokes before they happened (eg. Joe walking in with Mary's ashes which inevitably ended up in the new Dyson :rolleyes: )

    The entire premise of Marys death and her ashes was absolutely CRINGEWORTHY

    Cringe is not the same as laughing at a genuinely funny script and episode. I cringed at how awful it all was

    I love the "I don't like it - it need's to be axed" mentality, it really makes me smile.

    Care to share any other shows you dislike? I'd hate for one of my favourites to vanish because you don't like them - I really don't. :p
