Things characters in movies do, which don't make sense.
I'll start.
In Tremors, Burt and Heather Gummer have been driving around, looking the Graboids, but arrive back at their home, not having had sight nor sound of them.
So why does Heather then tip a large number of empty cartridge cases into the case polisher?
Are we expected to believe that, a highly experienced survivalist has been carrying excess weight (in the shape of a pocketful of empty rifle cartridge cases) with her, along with useful stuff, like a rifle and live ammunition
