Wii Sing Encore microphones

I have bought my wife Wii Sing Encore with the 2 microphones, but I have wrapped it and only just thought about batteries.

I have looked online but cannot find anything, so does anyone know which batteries the microphones that come with this game require.

    They connect via USB so no batteries needed.

    So are they wireless or not.

    If I am honest, I have only started thinking about this since I wrapped them, as it has been really hectic with other things.
