Barca at home will score multiple goals, so I cannot see City out scoring them, as they will surely need to do so.

So I think City are just playing for pride in the second leg, their only chance to go through was winning by at least two clear goals at home, with no away goals for Barca.

do you EVER learn from your mistakes?

Arsenal have an easier team to play against tonight, than City did last night. I am surprised about Arsenal losing.

What a terrible goal to concede from Arsenal's point of view.

Only Mertesacker knows why Mertesacker did what he did there.

Not the scoreline many people would have predicted at the start.

So for the Umpteenth year in a row Chelsea will be the last English team standing. Yet again they are left to hold up the EPL's co-efficient alone. Why can no other English team master the European game?

I did suggest when the draw was made what Arsenal would turn up on the night and so far................................it's not the good arsenal

What a shocker of a miss from Giroud

Neville's honesty and damning bluntness as a co-commentator is an entertainment in itself. He certainly says it as it is.

3-1 to Monaco, think that goal has just killed off Arsenal in this tie.

Could have been worse, they could have won 4-3.

Not the end of the world, I can still see Arsenal celebrating

...getting 4th in the league again.

disaster could happen soon if this carries on.

That is if England fall out of the top three in the country coefficient rankings, only the top 3 would qualify for the Champions League

Arsenal out, Man City out, Chelsea were well out played and should have been tonked.

The EPL has so much more money than the other leagues so why are the teams so poor in Europe?

    Oh, that regular one ...

No, it won't happen anytime soon, especially if they carry on getting 3 teams through to the KO stages of the Champions League and another 3 through to the KO stages of the Europa League, even with limited success thereafter.

They are still 2nd and are certainly miles clear of Italy in 4th in the rolling 5 year coefficient tallies.

I wouldn't say any kind of win would have been good, as the more away goals Barca got, the worse it would have been, a 3-2, 4-3, 5-4 would most definitely have sealed their fate far worse then it currently is!

Same with the draw, 1-1, would just about have been the only semi-good result, 2-2, 3-3, 4-4 etc would again have been very bad news for City.

You seem to think away goals count double in every scenario. It the game was 4-4 it wouldn't mean that Barcelona had effectively scored 8. You realise this?

I guess that 3rd Monaco goal was a life saver for Arsenal.

Well, they say it's the hope that kills ;-)

A couple of minutes after Monaco's second goal, Gary Neville said something like "It shows where the Premier League is, ....er...no disrespect..."

I think he got told off for that comment. The last thing Sky want is their No. 1 pundit pointing out that their bread and butter isn't quite as good as people would have you believe.
