My Family & 2.4 not my cup of tea nor I suspect of a forum savvy/DS demographic, but no way are they objectively awful, lazy at worst? Dibley has a decent pedigree/cast too and well executed if painfully traditional constructs.

Worst probably are those cynically churned out as flavour's of the month - fully expecting ITV to soon trail their new flagship starring wacky unrequited lovers Amanda Holden and the J out of Jedward unwittingly misconstruing each others tweets, with hilarious consequences

In answer to your question though, Take a Letter Mr. Jones. Nuff said. Also heralded by the worst theme tune too.

And to be more contemporary, The Persuasionists is pretty dire. Possibly seems so bad though because on paper it should be so good?

And you're right about Duty Free of course :D

I enjoyed all of them. Lame Ducks especially. I am annoyed it is not on DVD.

I thought Frank Skinner's sitcom Shane stank the house out.

From a year or two ago, Life of Riley starring Caroline Quentin. One I never watched was Sam's Game, but assume it was awful because it starred Davina McCall!

    2. Point 4 Children was brilliant in the early series. They should have ended it when Jenny went to university as it just fell flat after that. The early episodes were clever and sometimes very dark and surreal, though.

I never liked Two Pints or My Hero. The Vicar of Dibley was quite quick to lose its way, and I never understood the hype surrounding Dinnerladies. Mind you, I don't get programmes like Gavin & Stacey, Benidorm, or Shameless either so I probably just have strange tastes.

Most of anything on ITV, amazing how cosy and unfunny the shows used to be, and scary how popular they were, I am thinking 80's, mind you we only had 4 channels!

    My Hero

One with Jasper carrot can't remember its name but it ticked all the PC boxes - truly awful it was.

I actually enjoyed My Hero! However it is My Family which I detest. It wasn't funny in series one and is still unfunny in whatever series they've got to now.

Bit unfair as there are probably loads of American ones that I wouldn't even begin to watch but these were pretty bad...

    After Henry
Brighton Belles (Terrible Golden Girls attempted remake)
The Upper Hand (Terrible Whos the Boss remake)

The crap ITV one in the 80s or 90s about the vicar and the mothers who all fancied him.

    .

There was another that was very similar, set in a small parade of shops, but I can't remeber it's name. It was shockingly bad.

Johhny Vaughn's Orrible it certainly was.

Also a short lived series called mixed blessing in the early 80's.

That one where Jasper Carrott played the lead role, can't remember its name. Talk about trying to a fill a quota. There's such a thing as being too politically correct.
