It shouldn't be upto restaurants to entertain your children.

Their marketing certainly starts early, doesn't it?

While the food isn't the best, it isn't going to harm your child as a treat. My son gets to go in there once each school holiday, that works out six times a year. Kids tend to like the place because they do cater for children.

It is only junk food if consumed all the time. Like all eating the key is variety.

It's a nice thought, but to be honest, there's not actually much more nutritional value in a balloon than there is in a Big Mac.

    Must do better.

This thread is now going to be full of people who hate kids to be eating in restaurants with them and those that think kids should only ever be fed in places serving the most nutritious meals. Notice these will clash with each other, so maybe best to never go out for the day or take a packed lunch.

That's because children are the prime target of junk food  which is fine as a treat but not on a regular basis.

That's poor compensation for lukewarm soggy burgers and tasteless, limp chips.

    Toys, balloons, clowns, bright colors.

It's how they sell themselves to childrens' sensibilities, hoping that the coding will last well into adulthood.

It's how they make poor nutrition seem attractive

That and all the sugar and salt they pour into they buns, burgars and chips.

    Fleshed out enough for you?

Even in the squalid world of fast food even Burger King and KFC chips are better than Macdonalds

To be honest though people go on about McDonalds and yet think Bella Italia, Frankie & Bennies along with other chains are 'proper' food.

oh, marketing you mean. I may be mistaken but there are a few more companies using these shocking tactics.

Marketing aimed directly at children, to hoodwink them into desiring a sub-standard, health-damaging product.

Is this something you wish to encourage?

McDonalds has always had bright colours and clowns since the McDonalds brothers opened the first, i doubt at the time they had a mass evil scheme...

They don't sell chips in McDonalds. They sell crispy extruded cooked mashed potato with all manner of stabilisers in the mix which they have to call fries because they're not allowed to called them chips.
Chips are made of raw potatoes, as per my local chippy
