Im thinking of selling my PS3 as I rarely use it and now have a standalone Blu Ray player. I am thinking of selling to somewhere like Cash Converters or blockbuster. I need advice on what preperations I need to do first. Obviously I will delete any personal info on the PS3 such as my account. But do I reset it to the factory setting or leave it with the latest update on it? Its a 40gb model bought in 2008.

First bit of advice i would give is do not sell it to cash converters or cash generators they will give you about £30 for it. Your best bet would be CEX if there is one near you or selling it in your local newspaper.
I would format it completly that should get rid of all personal details and account details too.

I'm afraid you cant sell it. Once you are part of the "family" you are in it for good. :p

If you are def getting rid then delete person account and/or deactivate the console. Factory reset will still leave it on the latest FW.
