Aside from Kinnock Jnr. (who ought perhaps to be presenting Location, Location, Location with Kirstie Allsopp instead), there were four other serious candidates and I certainly wouldn't have voted for Kinnock just because of his name. Unlike some of the others, he doesn't appear to have any real connection to the constituency either.
On first look at that list, I doubt Sarah Woodall, Jeremy Miles, and Parmjit Dhanda have any real connection to the constituency either, unless they were born there and made their names elsewhere.
Labour (All the mainstream parties) love to talk the talk with "positive" discrimination and all their high talk about creating a more representative parliament, Perhaps they would be better served by rooting out all this institutional nepotism and ditching their "Jobs for the Boys" mentality.
Banning the the practice of parachuting of candidates by central office into "safe seats" would be a good place to start (*cough* Dromey *cough*).
To be fair it isn't only Labour, Tory MP's have also followed in their fathers, grand fathers and even Great grandfathers footsteps. Cameron, Sloane and Ben Gummer all have.

And Winston Churchill MP, grandson of his namesake.
Let's just be honest and accept that in this hopeless nation the political classes are there for themselves and not for the rest of us.
Doesn't matter which party they belong to they are all the same promoting their, sons or daughters as candidates and employing their wives at our expense without the inconvenience of an interview.
Whilst the corrupt Westminster parliament remains un-reformed I hope the Scots tell Cameron to **** off and govern themselves - assuming of course Salmond isn't exactly the same?
Kinnock was something of a clown but maybe his son, who is presumably very well-heeled, is actually driven by the desire to change our corrupt
political structure for something that vaguely resembles democracy?
Oh look a whole "flock" of pigs has just flown over my house!
Only citizens of the UK, Ireland and the commonwealth can stand for election in the UK elections, citizens of other European countries and those outside the commonwealth are rightly barred from standing so if he is a Danish citizen he cannot stand for election in the UK.
Do we really want another tax dodger as an mp, we have enough as it it is currently.

Stephen Kinnock may be many things but he's not a Danish citizen. What makes you think he is? You don't get someone's nationality when you marry them.

Clearly he's still a UK citizen then.

Makes Labour taunts about Cameron filling his front bench with Eton cronies a bit hypocritical, are they not doing the same with family members of Labour grandees?
Miliband and his bunch assume they have the absolute right to be in power in certain constituencies, Parachuting someone into a safe seat is arrogant, Why not attempt to let someone like Kinnock's son fight a more marginal seat, let him prove he has the competence to put his Socialist policies to more sceptical electorate.

Its a long time since Kinnock or Labour were actually socialist.
They are a sort of pale blue alternative to the conservatives nowadays.:(
The children of prominent Labour politicians. Old Etonians. Did people seriously think that any of the main parties (including UKIP) were the slightest bit interested in doing things were the working class?
Seems like we've been giving Neil Kinnock and Tony Blair more credit than they deserve again.
He has a "base" in London, apparently he lives in Denmark. Presumably "base" meaning a second home he visits now and then.
As far as I can make out, he's based in London, where he works, but spends his weekends in Denmark. Usually MPs use their weekends to return to their constituencies, so not sure when he'd have time to get back to his marital home again!

The Kinnocks aren't the only ones at it: http://order-order.com/2013/07/01/welsh-labour-keep-it-in-the-family/

I didn't know about him, I just knew that Sloame was his grandson.
I think you mean Nicholas Soames? And his uncle was Duncan Sandys, another Tory politician and son-in-law of Sir Winston!

He was never found guilty of tax evasion, was he?
I didn't realise that the figure was as high as that.

Maybe it's the sort of place to make you want to live in Denmark.
What do you mean by that?
What sort of demographic or examples are you looking for?
It has a large steelworks, a beach and a country park.

Of course he does. Have you seen the tax rates in Denmark?
