"Britannia Rag" by Winifred Attwell - (Charleston)

"Theme From A Summer Place" by The Percy Faith Orchestra - (Viennese Waltz)

"South American Getaway" (from the film "Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid") - (Viennese Waltz) - [This would be a great one for Movie Week]

"Rodrigo's Guitar Concerto" by Manuel & The Music of the Mountains - (Rumba/Argentine Tango)

As far as songs for this year's contestants go, I thought the following may be a good one for Jamelia, bearing in mind she is one of the regulars on Loose Women:-

    "Girls Talk" by Dave Edmunds

Since the first week's (and in the case of Steve Backshall, the first four weeks') songs tend to be related to each celebrity in some way, I wouldn't put it past them to have Jeremy Vine dancing to I Heard It Through the Grapevine shoehorned into a Tango.

This tune for a passionate paso doble:

Nicole Scherzinger means business with this tune, poison is such an addictive record.

Is this to obvious to use for Daniel as I am so sure it would not be with the producers: Daniel by Elton John.

Yeah I love this one! Great shout!

I also quite like the idea of the goldeneye theme by tina turner for a rumba. There's a couple doing a demo to it here for an idea of how it would look. Could also go for movie week if they do it again!

I think cheerleader would make a better salsa or cha cha as the beat is a bit fast for a samba but the song is catchy and current.

Yeah I think the pros should at least be able to say "this track is not working for the dance, I think x track would work a lot better - what do you think?" The producers can still say no if it really does not fit in with what they want, but it's such a shame if there can't even be a dialogue about the song choice/theme.

Some more song suggestions from me!

Samba: rich girl - gwen stefani (especially if they get someone like a made in chelsea cast member on the show)
Foxtrot american smooth: killer queen - queen
cha cha cha/group pro dance: hold my hand - jess glynne
cha cha cha: sex bomb - tom jones (for the lols)
rumba: blank space - taylor swift

I think I heard Pasha talking about song choices on ITT last year. He said Caroline gave him lists of songs she liked, he picked out ones on the list that he liked too or thought would work, and gave them to the producers. Sometimes they got something from this list, sometimes a song was just chosen for them particularly if it was a themed week.

Its lovely hearing traditional music used for dances such as the paso and Argentine Tango, but its true the pros dancers and producers have to think outside the box too. Does anyone know if The Eve of the War (from Jeff Wayne's War of the Worlds) has been used. That could make a great, dramatic paso.
