That's a shame, but given Corrie's weak figures recently its no wonder it was lower than last year. My exception of 6m might have been a bit too high. I expect 3.5m or so stayed with BBC1 for John Bishop in Australia.

There was a lot of factual competition last night too:

    Excellent #RoyalMarinesCommandoSchool marched onto C4 at 9pm lined up 2.1m/9.7%, with another 313.5k/1.9% on C4+1. http://t.co/Gu75jKfL7Z

    Overnights.TV

    Makes Utopias figure look worse!

Solid return for Long Lost Family. A little down on last year but nothing to worry about, it's still a strong performer. Corrie being down won't have helped and John Bishop will have been solid factual opposition. Horrible for Utopia though!

    Gameshow ratings from Bother's Bar:

    Pointless 2.63m (21.0%)
    The Chase 2.62m (21.9%)
    University Challenge 2.42m (11.7%)
    Bargain Hunt 1.76m (31.4%)
    Big Brother Armageddon 1.61m (9.9%)
    Tipping Point 1.52m (18.0%)
Couples Come Dine With Me 1.04m (8.7%)
    Eggheads 0.96m (6.3%)
    Perfection 0.82m (13.7%)
Big Brother’s Bit on the Side 0.74m (8.5%)
Deal or No Deal 0.42m (5.8%)
    Countdown 0.33m (5.5%)
    Ultimate Dealer 0.29m (3.2%)

All including HD and +1 where appropriate.

Pointless and The Chase very close there! Good for Big Brother too.

Fantastic for BB and BOTS. The Chase and Pointless now even!

The Armageddon for Big Brother worked last night, nice increase. Hope it helps in the long run. I would guess that is probably Bit On The Side's highest rating since launch night.

Nice for LLF, around the same as I expected. Poorer than expected for Utopia, I expected between 800k-1m. Has anyone have the breakdown for BB? Wondering if it dropped/stayed static throughout.

    EE top soap!

Mikes figures are ITV and HD not plus 1, and not tapechecked. So Corrie will be top.

No, Mike's figures are SD + HD.

Dancc is not going to like this, Radio Times has once again just like during the Olmpics relegated Channel 5 to the minor Freeview Channel pages in favour of BBC3 while the Commonwealth Games are on. Meanwhile BBC3 is operating from 9am in the morning.

Weirdly TV Times has mixed up Wednesday and Thursday.

Daily Mail Hates Utopia its TV critic gave it no stars..

Aww :( still nice to see EE getting closer to Corri.

Utopia2 quite disappointing but i think its the very definition of niche tv

Corrie leading the soaps with just 7 million is clearly showing mass soap fatigue allround.

    ITV HD are the plusses

I rarely post +1 figs, if so they will be labelled in brackets

    Sorry for any confusion

Doesn't it show the weather is warm?

I think to blame the mass exodus of soap viewers on a sunny day is masking the problem. All the soaps have been struggling the best few months

Pointless and The Chase now a dead heat, with The Chase now ahead in share. Tipping Point did 'ok' but obviously lost momentum with football disruption.

Big Brother has improved and got a very nice rating. Couples Come Dine With Me did well

And look at Bargain Hunt. A 31% share in daytime. Huge share and this is what gives BBC1 good daytime shares along with news.

Utopia was a bigger niche last year. Big Brother took some of its viewers it seems. And warm weather rather than soap fatigue explains their ratings.

Good to see EE only 400-500k off Corrie now on Mondays, and around 1m ahead of Emmerdale. Tomorrow will be low for Emmerdale and particularly EE with the clash. EE has around a week to slightly recover before the Commonwealth Games forces it back down and onto BBC Two.

The second Corrie was 7.42m (35.2%) tape checked, although the figures are unspectacular they can be happy that there isn't a big drop between episodes anymore.

I think its more to do with Corrie's weakened state than EE's rise that has helped them to close a ratings gap.

Does anyone know the rating for The Speakmans on ITV at 2pm?

DS reporting different ratings of 1.55m excl +1 for BB, so if the 90k on +1 is true, wouldn't that be 1.64m rather than 1.61m? Are they tapechecked and the ones on here aren't?

Also, 1.21m incl +1 for The 100 on E4. Very good still!

1.56m incl +1 for Benefits Britain, a drop of almost 1m from last week!

Shame it's one of the best British drama's in years, but no surprise it has low ratings. I find the best things on TV normally do.

    d.

We gave up after half an hour. Neither of us could even remember how Utopia 1 ended or whether we actually stuck with it to the end.
