I thought that too :) I'm downloading Pariah on payday. I hope there's a sequel to Cry Baby too.

    Happy birthday, Joni's mum. :)

Only thing I've been reading recently is work documents. Thankfully, it is done, it is sent, it is no longer my problem. :D:D:D

I managed to finish the Cuckoo's Calling, and thoroughly enjoyed it. I might go down the classics route next- I'm quite a fan of Jane Austen and I've only read two of her books, so got the others to go.

I never get round to reading much anymore because I am always on here. :o

I will have to start having DS free days!

Although I spent a full hour researching one post for my paleo thread (the secret Megalodon skeleton) and was talking to myself again! :D

So it's my own fault. :kitty:

You are hardly ever on here all day either, so give it up.............................:D

Evening everyone , reading Brick Lane, Monica Ali. Liking it so far and an it's a bit of an eye opener.

    My favourite author!

Her books are all good, except for Mansfield Park, which just isn't. But the best imo is Persuasion.

I know P&P gets all the attention, but Persuasion is my favourite (of the ones I've read). I'm partway through Sense and Sensibility at the minute.

Captain Wentworth is high on my (admittedly very long) list of fictional men I am in love with. :)

And he was already on the list before I saw the film with Rupert Penry Jones playing him.

Indeed. Give me him over Darcy any day!

Treated myself to Silkworm with the Amazon Giftcards I earned on Instagc and the other books by the author of Cry baby with the £5 I earned from Swagbucks, I feel like I got them for nothing that way!:)
Now to resist the temptation to start reading Silkworm before my holiday!:)

Hope you enjoy Silkworm as much as I did. :) JKR has got another great series on her hands here, I reckon.

I am totally fed up with waiting for Silkworm to come from the library. It seems like months ago that I ordered it. I checked up yesterday and there are 163 reservations for it. I've no idea where in that list I am!

I think a trip to Smith's early next week is now on the agenda - I can't wait any longer.

That's crazy! You should definitely treat yourself.

I am 75% through The Black Velvet Gown, I had forgotten how much I enjoyed Catherine Cookson's books, you really get a feel for the era.

Next I think I will read Pariah by David Jackson as I enjoyed Cry Baby so much :)

I saw Pariah advertised and planned to buy it but then I realised I have a book to read for my next assignment so I am starting on "the burial at Thebes" this evening after dinner.

Has anyone seen Extant? I don't know how to access it, don't want to download illegally but when I Google for info it just comes up with a load of spoilers so thought I'd ask in here :)

    Hi all. ^_^

Is anyone else watching 'The Honourable Woman' - written, directed and produced by Hugo Blick?

It is almost as compelling as his previous masterpiece 'The Shadowline' which he also wrote, produced and directed - how I loved Stephen Rea as the truly satanic Gatehouse (and his character in this series could almost be his slightly less evil brother)!

    Have a good evening. :)

Hi Keyser, I've watched the first episode and on thursday will watch the last 3 in the caravan.

Missed the first series of Utopia so toying with watching this 2nd series first, as it's meant to be a prequel I believe?

Just bought Catch 22 by Joseph Heller for £2.99 on a Kindle deal, pleased with that as it's one of my favourite books and I haven't read it for years :)

Just downloaded Pariah, yes, it's payday!! Hope it's as good as Cry Baby.

My sister treated herself to Silkworm when it first came out, I'm hoping to persuade her to lend it me. I think she's got a queue of friends wanting to borrow it before me though. So much for sisterly solidarity. Huh.

Hi Bunions, it's too hot to be indoors and on the laptop (it heats up my knees, I should get one of those laptop trays!)

I am off work for most of the summer, just doing 5 days until I go back full-time in September so plenty of time for reading. My first time ever of having the school holidays off, although to be honest I'd rather have the money but as I don't have a say in it I may aswell enjoy relaxing :)
