I don't listen to Beyonce a lot because her music isn't really my thing. I am a Stevie Wonder fan though so I watched this video and I really cannot deny her singing ability. Her performance may be a little over the top but it doesn't detract too much from it. I think Stevie enjoyed it too.

Also, Gary Clark Jr also doing Stevie Wonder proud when he joined in but I'm a fan of him anyway :D

That was absolutely fantastic. I like that she went over the top with it. I think she meant to do that and it fitted the song. Really was great.

It shows what Beyonce is capable of and makes it even more frustrating that so much of her material she releases is such watered down, commercial, soulless guff

I love Beyonce's voice but I can't stand 90% of the tuneless tripe she releases. I love her performance of 'The Way We Were' at a Barbra Streisand tribute a few years ago. I think it was at Washington DC's Kennedy Center. Check it out. She sang it beautifully and Barbra herself seemed to really enjoy it. I can't post links with this phone but it should still be on YouTube. It's the best vocal performance I've ever heard from Beyonce.

I've just watched it and boy does she do a great job. I do know a couple of her songs but not too many. I really love Crazy in Love and Love in Top.

What surprises me about her (and I hope I got my information right on this), is this she uses auto tune on her songs :o

in fairness ...autotune has become a studio preset for all singers...
it works really well in places but greatly affects the timbre, vibrato and character of voices. Used sparingly it can add sparkle to vocals. Or used an intended artistic effect its great. But it is a misconception that it can turn the a bad vocal in to a good one.

It was a beautiful cover indeed.

The Stevie Wonder tribute was just incredible. What an energy this woman has after 17 years in the industry. Stage presence like no other!

Agreed. Fantasia and many others are just in a different league to Beyoncé.
