BIG NEWS: Quality Street bins the Toffee Deluxe

Quality Street bins the Toffee Deluxe... and brings in the Honeycomb Crunch

Possibly the most sensible decision of the last 20 years. No more tins / boxes of old Christmas sweets knocking around disappointing everyone who looks because there's only toffees left. Considering the replacement, there's now another reason to shout "bundles" when the seal of a new tin is broken.

Crunchie is the best bar ever :) I love anything Cadbury when in America it won me a lot of friends introducing them to the real British Cadbury over the horrid Hershey's version of Cadbury. Regarding quality street, interesting that its shrunk 30g again, same price?

This is why globalisation is bad!
Damned Nestle grabbed Rowntree, our fourth biggest confectionery maker in the world - a West Yorkshire company - in a hostile takeover, although of course Nestle were conveniently protected by Swiss law from being subject to such takeovers themselves.
Since then the sweeties have gone downhill in my opinion.

Quality street are my least favourite of the selection box type of chocolates. I don't like toffee or fudge and a huge majority of QS are toffee or fudge

Haven't bought any for 2 yrs now. The new plastic ' tins ' looks like they will fit through a letter box. Also a lot of the chocs have changed taste wise for the worse and you don't get more than four or five of the nicer chocs now so what's the point. Rowntree used to make quality stuff...now has anyone tasted a jelly baby lately...:o

    agree.
whenever we have them at Christmas its always the toffee ones we never eat.
they do put more of the rubbish ones in which does suck especially the price they are now for smaller tins

I gave up with QS when they ditched the peanut cracknell (presumably because it was killing people in droves). It was bloody lush.

Yeah Quality Street are my least favourite of the big chocolate tubs. I do like the Toffee ones though.

    For me it's

    Celebrations
    Heroes
    Roses
    Quality Street

I wish they still made Mingles, I used to bloody love them. The only light side is the lack of Mingles made me discover Lindor instead, which are bloody gorgeous. Don't do my waistline or wallet any favours though!
