Advice on choosing TV

I'm determined to replace my old 42 inch plasma with a new TV but as soon as I settle on one I get frightened off by technical details. I'm looking at an LED TV for low power use as the TV is used a lot, and I would prefer a bigger screen.

the V is used mainly for watching films or TV and some game play on a PS3. Connection is through a freeview box (Sagem HDMI) as well as the PS3.

I'm not overly fussed on smart TV or 3D though I suppose if it was there it would be nice. Max budget is £500.

I've been looking at these and would like peoples opinions on them:

Someone said though that this is end of line low spec with a poor aspect ratio.

Seems a really good buy and my local Sainsburys has a couple in stock still.

What do people think is the best one of the above? Thanks for any help / opinions
