They seem to be making a big thing of their LIVE animal pictures. Is that them having a dig at BBC1's heavily criticised Planet Earth Pre-Recorded?:D

I absolutely LOVED the filming of the beautiful Kingfishers a few minutes ago, with the male enticing the female with his fish suppers! :D

I looked on the ratings thread and Springwatch 2012's first show got 2.22 million with a 10.2% audience share.

That's a great start :D,but I thought it would be down due to the hot weather and get around 1 million or under that. :o

It's good to see a quality programme get the viewers it deserves, and I just hope that the ratings hold up for the rest of the series.

I havent had a chance to catch up with last night but will do later on. Did watch the owls being fed live last night which was great midnight viewing. I thought Kate would be back this series?

and his hair. Well, a lot of it. Or am I very late on that observation? don't think I caught the last series.

Loved the fox cubs and not much later on we had mother, father and cubs in our own garden - couldn't quite make out if there were 4 or 5 as it was dusk-dark and they were right at the end of the garden.

Loved the Kingfishers, Nuthatch, Owls and Tits - what a sweet little nest they have.

They said yesterday that one of the nests was empty because the chicks fledged in the afternoon. Perhaps they should put it on in Spring.

Sad to see no Kate. I really didn't like Michaela's style during Autumnwatch, and it's not improved much.

How short does MHG looked, when stood next to Chris ??

Chris Packham has really excelled so far this series and I've enjoyed the kingfisher and whisker showcases. Good stuff. :)

I don't think so, the bitch campaign was against the Humble Bumble. ;)

Bill left because of issues with depression although I think he works best when he isn't holed up in a studio. Chris Packham seems a much more natural presenter for this sort of programme.

Michaela seems to have calmed down a notch or two since her manic debut on Autumnwatch.

IN fact i prefer bill to CHRIS, and Kate to michaela
in other words i prefer the original casting.. BILL suffers from sever depression, and his so called friends and colleges say that he was miserable and unwashed. .. but he does know about birds.. his knowledge is next to none..
