Closed Circuit: why limited release

I wanted to see the new Eric Bana movie 'closed Circuit' but have had to hunt the cinemas locally to find it, with one one in twn doing so, with showings only once a night, even on opening week, being later on in the evening. Does anyone know why the distributors haven't bothered promting this movie? No posters, bus ads, tv trailers etc. they seem to have abandoned it to an early death. why make a film, then not publicise it?

I also wondered why it was being sidelined. Hadn't heard of it until it turned up in the listings for our "spare" Vue that's across the road from the main one. I read the reviews and it sounds like the definition of straight-to-video. 41% on Rotten Tomatoes and critics saying things like "ropey performances, join-the-dots plotting and nail-shreddingly awful dialogue". So I decided to give it a miss.
