The game's just finished, give it a bit of time. You were like this after Man United beat Liverpool, getting a bit over-excited. Where were you demanding the table being updated after the other fixtures?

You mistake me, I am not saying or demanding anything, if the table takes a bit of time to put together, that is fine, I don't mind.
Admittedly I wasn't around asking for the table when we had our couple of poor results, because well, I wasn't in the best of moods, and I might have said something wrong or contentious.

It has got nothing to do with point scoring, petty or otherwise.
This place really is full of children isn't it. What right is it of yours to expect the OP to be around immediately to update the table?

I wasn't expecting the OP to update this immediately or straight away, I was just looking forward to seeing it when hopefully it does get updated, I never asked or specified a time frame.

      Man Utd 9 4 1 0 13 4 2 1 1 4 3 +10 20
      Chelsea 9 3 1 0 7 1 2 2 1 13 11 +8 18
     Man City 11 4 1 1 10 5 0 3 2 7 10 +2 16
      Arsenal 10 2 2 1 10 6 1 2 2 7 8 +3 13
    Liverpool 11 2 2 2 10 10 1 1 3 5 10 -5 12
    Tottenham 10 3 1 1 9 8 0 1 4 4 14 -9 11
      Everton 10 0 3 1 6 9 0 1 5 3 9 -9 4

Seems to illustrate United have fallen short against the lesser teams. And also City's abject away form. Next week it's United visiting Chelsea. A tougher test even if Chelsea are running out of strikers...

I thank you very much for updating the table, I didn't mean for you to do it as quickly as this, but it is very kind that you have done so.

As for the table itself, it is the matches against Southampton at home, and the two Swansea matches which irk me the most, as this table proves that in the big games, so far we have done very well in them.

An update to this would be nice to see! :D:D

Bluddy hell, would you have been so quick had the result been the opposite. Sloth does this at his leisure, surely you, with your qualifications could have done it yourself?

It's not enough for you to just look forward to it though, is it?

Instead, its critical that you post up in the thread like a fly round shit asking for the table within 10 minutes of the final whistle. There is no way you would have asked for the table had the boot been on the other foot, absolutely no way whatsoever.

It wouldn't have took Einstein to establish how an updated table would have looked. Sloth does a fantastic job of keeping this thread up to speed and its interesting purely from an observing point of view and doesn't require childish interventions such as yours.

I was thinking that myself as I watched the end of Arsenal's fortunate win over Reading - I knew a certain poster would be moist with anticipation. So here it is...

      Everton 10 0 3 1 6 9 0 1 5 3 9 -9 4

Chelsea travel to Arsenal and Everton host United next Sunday...

Still tight at the top here, it does seem that it is between the top two to top this particular table.

Maths not your strong point then? ONLY the top two can win it, there's no seem about it.

What it does show is United have dropped 10 more points than Chelsea against teams outside the seven in this league, which has been telling. City, Tottenham and Everton haven't beaten any of the others away - Everton haven't even done so at home (which probably explains their demise this season).

The maximum City and Arsenal can finish on is 19 points. Doesn't take much to know that it's only a race between the top two for the top spot.

I'm quite confident for Newcastle next season if we don't implode like we did at the end of last season :)

This has never failed to raise a smile, even during a tough few weeks... :)

It's been a spectacular crash, even by Newcastle's standards, since this was posted late last year. The bottom seven is looking far more exciting than the top seven as May edges closer.

Ouch! :D dear oh dear lol well I'm glad I've made you so happy! ;)

I'm glad I clicked for this thread actually because bad as we've been for the last few seasons I never forgot that we weren't in this little league the season after we finished 5th! Not that it matters or means anything!

Newcastle are a club in huge turmoil. Not just on the pitch! There is apathy and protest from the fans because the TPTB have made it clear they have no ambition and are happy trying to stay in the premier league! Newcastle are not a team who will win a league title, so what is the sense I'm not going for a cup competition! We should be trying! Not settling for a good profit with no investment!

There are so many things wrong with the club right now it's unreal!

Sadly, Newcastle finished 5th in 2011/2012 and I started this in 2013/2014, so it corrected reflected the top seven from the previous 2012/2013 campaign - a year too late for the Toon to feature. Given that you finished 16th it's probably for the best... :D

I think relegation would actually be a blessing as it'll mean the guaranteed income Ashley is comforted by will be gone and he'll probably finally cut his loses.

Well then someone else did a similar league that for whatever reason didn't feature the toon! :p. Believe me I wasnt expecting any such accommodation from 13/14 onwards!

As for your point about relegation being possibly a good thing for the toon!

I wouldnt recommend relegation for any club! Having experienced it in 2009 I know it's not a nice experience! Actually when it happened I just remember feeling numb! I never actually believed we would go down until the last 10 minutes of the Villa game when I thought "my God, this is actually going to happen".

It worked out for us in 2010, finishing as champions with 102pts. I'm not so sure it'd go the same way again.

All that said, if going down a league or 2 is what it takes to get rid of the Ashley regime then maybe that'll be something! Maybe we'd someone feel like a proper football club again, because let me tell you, being a Newcastle United fan at the moment is very hard going indeed.

    I think it's...
                    Home Away
                Pl W D L F A W D L F A GD Pts
      Man Utd 7 2 1 0 8 3 2 0 2 4 4 +5 13
      Chelsea 7 2 1 0 4 1 1 3 0 4 3 +4 13
      Arsenal 7 1 2 1 7 5 1 1 1 4 4 +2 9
     Man City 8 2 1 1 5 4 0 2 2 6 9 -2 9
    Liverpool 7 1 1 2 6 7 0 0 3 2 10 -9 4

    Some interesting contrasts there.

     Man City 12 4 1 1 10 5 1 3 2 8 10 +3 19
      Arsenal 11 2 3 1 10 6 1 2 2 7 8 +3 14

      Everton 11 1 3 1 9 9 0 1 5 3 9 -6 7

A four goal win for United next week will see them top this league but I can't see the new spirited Arsenal allowing that to happen.

The only other potential move is if Spurs beat Everton at Goodison. I suspect it'll come down to whoever has the most comfortable deckchairs...

As for the Top Five Mini League...
                    Home Away
                Pl W D L F A W D L F A GD Pts
      Chelsea 8 2 2 0 5 2 1 3 0 4 3 +4 14
      Man Utd 7 2 1 0 8 3 2 0 2 4 4 +5 13
      Arsenal 7 1 2 1 7 5 1 1 1 4 4 +2 9
     Man City 8 2 1 1 5 4 0 2 2 6 9 -2 9
    Liverpool 8 1 1 2 6 7 0 1 3 3 11 -9 5

Again, it's in United's hands but this time a draw will do.
