I'm new to this thread series (which all of which are maddeningly and confusingly named the same, poor show Digital Spy) but I did contribute to an earlier thread long ago, which seems to have been deleted, GRRR. I said then, way back when, that the equivalent of manslaughter through reckless disregard for the consequences of his action was the most likely verdict, and that was before most of the long-winded evidence had been heard.
I still think the same and I will only be annoyed at the verdict if he is either: acquitted, or: gets away with time served, a fine or some kind of community penalty. Manslaughter, Culpable Homicide I think they call it, that's what my money has always been on - though I completely agree with your sentiments about the message this will send if he is acquitted or otherwise released from prison.
Cheers. I do feel strongly about violence against women and feel for the women of SA and all the repercussions that can arise from an aquittal of very lenient punishment (no jail time).
Just out of interest, can any legal people tell me if this scenario of automatically considering the lesser charge of CH (manslaughter) would happen in English law?
Yes, in England the lesser charge can be considered (for many crimes).
Just as predicted the excuses are starting to appear:
He bought his freedom
The judge is incompetent
The judge has been bribed
The judge doesn't know the law
OP is a murderer but it can't be proven
Reeva was a woman so it must have been a DV murder
The trial shouldn't have been televised
Witnesses were intimidated
etc etc etc etc.....

Irrespective of the outcome, I will never believe that this tragedy wasn't anything other than a clear case of DV.

I believe Masipa knows the law and has vast experience but imho her explanation of de as fas as I'm aware seemed a bit skewed but that's just me.
Not all violent acts against a woman is Domestic violence or abuse. I haven't seen this anywhere but I could be wrong.

You can add:
ballistic evidence was ignored
testimonies of reliable witnesses (screams, common cause) were dismissed
I believe she has separated Reeva from the charges, I await to hear what she says regarding the Intruder.
How on earth could she separate Reeva after having seen her head exploded. Some fine judging right there- not.! Listening to OP and his zombie stopping lies. >:(

Karma I hope will get them.
Any evidence for this or just a feeling?
Something's going on.

Nel is crying.
Here's hoping.
I doubt Roux would be complaining about it.

Crossbows just as powerful you can even get repeating version. He'll shoot guns no doubt on some remote Game Reserve like owned by his Uncle.
More interested whether he will return to competitive running and who will share a room with him and bathroom when away.
Not until the cat releases a sex tape:o:D
Dessert.
Yep, pretty predictable. ;-)
so you think she will go through the whole lot again and apply it to the intruder?
