    How very sad.

I grew up a Trekkie, but not his version TNG, but I always dfid enjoy watching the classic series when I was first introduced to them.

He will always be interlinked with the Spock character.

    R.I.P

    So saddened by this news.

Sad news indeed. Spock was my first TV character crush watching Star Trek reruns in the 70s, and I've been a 'Trekkie' ever since. I followed him on twitter as well - he wanted nothing more than for people to learn by his mistake, and not smoke to the detriment of their health like he had realised too late he'd done.

R.I.P. Leonard Nimoy - LLAP in our memories.

    Reports on twitter (apparently reliable).

    He lived long and prospered.

    EDIT: confirmation http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-31662024
He signed off with "LLAP" - a reference to his character's famous catchphrase, "Live long and prosper". It was to be his final tweet.

He'll be forever linked with Spock

Not that I'm a Star Trek fan, but it's a shame he died so close to their 50th anniversary. I assume they're making a film to commemorate it, so did he already film any scenes for it?

Just heard. More gutted than I expected as it was a pretty good age. Loved and grew up with Star Trek, and by all accounts he was a lovely man. Even bought one of his albums on vinyl in a jumble sale donkeys years ago. It was, um, not uninteresting! Bless ya, Mr Nimoy and RIP. You were loved. That's not a bad legacy.

Edit: Have been doing the Vulcan salute in his honour. Some people get it.

Well gutted. As previously mentioned, it was great to see him back in Fringe.
Also check out The Bangles - Going Down to Liverpool. Effortlessly cool.

    RIP

Aw, very sorry to hear that. He was a true legend of TV....it has to be one of the most iconic shows in history and his character was memorable. At least he got to live a full life anyway.
