ITV's choice of David Moyes smacks of laziness on their part, i.e. just because he's Scottish. The bloke never played for Scotland and played most of his career in England; I'm sure there's numerous ex-Scotland internationals out there they could have enlisted.

At least STV have managed to get "for an England perspective", a man who captained his country.

And I will be poking my eyes out with hot skewers as it is bound to be more entertaining and less painful.

Yup, I will probably be watching something else. I didn't even watch England play in the World Cup.
Mind you, with ITV losing most of its football in six months time, these sort of meaningless games will take on more importance.

If its on Sky Sports LIVE then its a no brainer (If you have the channels of course) but 2nd choice would be STV HD as better pundits AND commentary
A toilet is better than Andy Townsend!!!

... and who spent large swathes of his playing and managerial career in Scotland ...

As someone who finds the endless shouting matches between UKIP trolls and SNP trolls in the comments to every single Andy Murray article in the Guardian the single most depressing thing in the world, it should be obvious how much interest I have in this match.

I don't watch football but I don't understand why Sky would broadcast the same game on two its channels at the same time.

I think it should be a good game. The 3-2 was last year. Anyway the ITV line up is not very inspiring.

Although I hate their coverage most of the time.

Bully for you, why every time football is mentioned you feel the need to reply to the thread and tell everyone you don't like it, I don't know, but you do it every time.

The England internationals and friendlies will have the same status now and in a years time. The Champions League is irrelevant.

Still doesn't make sense, why not just show it on SS1 then. Unless, like ITV/STV, they will have different presenting/commentary teams depending on who you're supporting. Scot's wont want the usual endless references to 1966 and the likes. and England won't be wanting reminded of the result in 1967 :D

Yes but he played for 13 years in England, so the original statement is correct, as he did play most of his football in England.

I can barely contain my apathy about the Scotland team these days so won't waste 2 hours of my time watching that.
