Kristen Stewart is what i view as an average actress
She's no Meryl streep, but she's better than the likes of Megan Fox, Liz Hurly, Jessica Alba and loads of other shit terrible actresses.

If you take away Snow white and Twilight, she chooses her films well but she can't display more than one emotion in her face. She's very limited.

One actor who comes to mind is Robert Knepper who played T Bag in Prison Break. I think he played the role very convincingly

I was just about to say Kurt Russell.

I've never seen him give a bad performance.

I thought he was great in Breakdown.

    Sean Harris

I thought he was excellent in See No Evil and also good in Red Riding. He's been in a few other films. Mostly a bad guy iirc.

John c. Reilly . Falls into the Adam sandler trap of being in too any crappy screwball comedies (step brothers anyone) . But like sandler he rel,y excels in more serious roles. In his case Gangs of New York and We Need To Talk Abiut Kevin.

I saw him on a chat show and he came out with a stat that in one year he starred in every film nominated for best oscar or something.

Sam Rockwell. I think he is excellent in everything and usually steals the film.

Not quite, but in 2002 he was in three of the five films.

He appeared in Chicago, Gangs of New York and the Hours but didn't manage to sneak into The Pianist or The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. :p

I can come up with a lot of names for a thread like this if I stop long enough to think, but there's one I always think of immediately and she's already been mentioned once.

Laura Dern. She's a consistently brilliant actress, with immense diversity and range. From something as epic as Jurassic Park where she got to go from witty to sheer terror, to the less impressive Little Fockers where she stole every scene she was in against Stiller and De Niro... I think she's brilliant!

If I had to come up with a male actor too... the first that comes to mind is Viggo Mortensen... he's impressed me in the few films I've seen him in, and understandably was brilliant as Aragorn in The Lord of the Rings.

Abbie Cornish- love most stuff she is in.

Vincent cassil- underrated out outside of france

Tom cruise - yes he is a massive box office name but i do not think his acting gets the recognition it deserves.mainly because of his religious beliefs. Many cant seperate the person from the actor, which is a shame.one of the best not to have won an oscar yet imo
