Scott Parker is 33 and has no future international prospects. He was unlucky enough to be a contemporary of Lampard and Gerrard so his career always was going to be a bit part for England. Also in his formative years Paul Scholes was strutting his stuff.

He was a decent enough DM or holding player. He tackled hard and worked his socks off, but there wasn't a great deal more to his game. Sometimes that's all you need from a player if he's surrounded by other talent, but he was never true international class.

Have to agree. At Charlton he looked like the next Bryan Robson, then came the Chelsea move and he struggled to get in the team and then he get injured and was never quite as dynamic again. Could still win the ball well but his distribution went to pot. Also, something about that hairstyle of his just screamed English Defence League, or is that just me .
