Corrie 29.08.14 - Taking The Biscuit
Evening all and welcome to the final episode thread of the month! On this, the 241st day of the year and 9 years since Hurricane Katrina, we wait with baited breath for the latest installments of the nation's most-watched soap. Unfortunately there's no sign of Tiramisus or Baked Alaskas. Also, Jim wants to know what biscuits tickle your fancy so he does, he's still craving for a bourbon poor fella.

Drunk on Love
As Elizabeth nervously prepares for her meeting with Jim, Peter begs for more alcohol, but Jim says he can have his reward once Elizabeth and Steven have visited. When Elizabeth visits alone, will Peter have his booze withheld?
Jim tells Lizzie how much he misses his family, but she points out that he only has himself to blame. As Jim tries not to harden and convince Liz that underneath she still loves him, will Liz soften?
With Jim refusing to give Peter any more alcohol, a desperate Peter tracks down his illegal stash and drinks the lot.
When Jim finds Peter on the floor barely conscious, will he alert the guards and get him to hospital, or is Peter's life in the balance?
Meanwhile, Liz tells Steve and MicHelle that Jim hasn't changed a bit and she has told him they want nothing more to do with him. Later, Steve makes some signings for his pub cricket team.

The Blame Game
Jase frets as he blames Tony and Todd for the fact that Ty is in hospital and they can't claim on the insurance.
Jason feels terrible as a pained Ty returns to the street, but Tony is adamant they can't involve the insurance company as if anyone found out they were using materials that didn't meet building regulations then Jason's business would be finished. Jason is furious and tells Tony and Todd that once they've sorted out this mess, they're both sacked. Calling at Number 11, Tony offers to make good the damage and give Tyrone £1,000 to tide him over. Will Tyrone be appeased by his offer?

Don't Tell The Bridezilla
Tracy runs through her diva-like wedding demands with Michelle.
SSSSHHHHHHHH.......it!
Knowing that Steph would disapprove, Katy and Luke keep schtum about their kiss. Katy calls at the garage to tell Luke they can only be friends. Luke reluctantly agrees, but it's clear they both want more. Will they be able to resist each other?
Dev-il Women
Julie and Mary compete to impress Dev at the gym. Later, when Dev pays Julie a back-handed compliment, she tells him to shove his gym membership. Will he be able to win her back round? aka we don't know what to do with these characters so we'll use them as filler extras.

All sounds a bit meh. Only highlight for me will be Mary at the gym.
Hello there Cobbleheads
Glad that Mary and Julie are in it tonight
With regards to biscuits my personal preferences are fig rolls, ginger nuts (not Gary's ;-)) and Garibaldis.
Hi all!
So, head on over to the Survivor thread(s) and cast your votes!
Emmerdale http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2002588
And
Corrie http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showthread.php?t=2002591
We’re in the last week of August now so it’s time to start thinking about your team for August’s Corrie Challenge game.
Don’t worry if you have played before. The game is a bit like a simplified version of Fantasy Football so if you fancy having a go just read the rules below. And, if you're an Emmerdale viewer you can play the Emmerdale version of the game. Just check out any of this week's "Emmerdaily" thread for instructions.
Anyway, it’s a very easy game to play. The object of the game is to pick a team of 11 characters from those listed below which you think will score the more points than the other people playing the game.
Once you’ve whittled your shortlist down to 11 characters you will then need to nominate one of them as Captain. This character will have their score doubled so you’re really looking to identify the character which you think will score the most points during the month to maximise your chances of winning.
Then, simply post your choices on the thread or send them to me via PM, and keep an eye out for the Monday Episode Thread to see how your “team” is doing in the score updates.
The scoring system works as follows:-
+ 1 point per episode appearance
+ 1 point for the character that speaks the first words in the episode.
+ 1 point for the character that speaks the last words in the episode before the break.
+ 1 point for the character that speaks the first words in the episode after the break
+ 1 point for the character that speaks the last words in the episode.
+ 1 point for any kisses on the lips. If you have both characters who kiss in your team each character will receive a point.
+ 2 bonus points for any character that appears in 5 or more episodes during the week. In the event of any episodes being transmitted on a weekend the week will run from Monday to Sunday.
+ Remember that your team Captain gets their score doubled!!!
Once you’ve done all that you can also pick a name for your team. This will be listed in the Score Updates.
Your “Starting List” for September’s Corrie Challenge is as follows:-
• Remember you need to select ELEVEN characters (including a captain) – no more, no less.

Evening mrb.
Very welcome Foxster.
My pleasure RK.
I messed up the poll, didn't want it to be too long and ended up putting bourbon twice.
I'm sure you do! :D
Julie and Mary seems to be the best on offer tonight
Well I prefer Gareh and Jason, they better be in!
Mmmmm biscuits, I love em all. Ultimate fave though is 🍪the good old cookie🍪! Especially Marylands ones, which don't come in anywhere near a large enough packet:p
OOh biscuits. Love a bit of shortbread, so I do!
Catch you all later, bye
Anyway, I voted for the Jammie D as I love one and this week at Ocado they are BOGOF and I'm lucky enough to have the Jam & Custard edition in my cabinet as I type.
Let's hope we get a couple of good episodes tonight, a slight improvement over the last two weeks I feel, mainly since Ken's return.
Catch you soon.
Yep, says a lot doesn't it. Although I'd rather watch the Grimshaws than the Windass/Armstrongs.
Thanks Collie.
So you're the cookie monster.
Thanks Lynchpin. Seems like everyone's afraid to touch the bourbons, put two batches out to keep Jim happy.
Nonsense FM, I love your ones!
Jam and Cream are nice too, not enough Jam in the Dodger.
Funnily enough I'm going to Garibaldi next week, hopefully I'll get an authentic biscuit. :kitty:
I don't think Fiz will annoy me this evening ^_^
I bet Todd likes a Hobnob, Alya and Izzy both favour Ginger Nuts , Rita was partial to a Sponge(r) Finger and Mary, well a Gypsy Cream of course.
LovelyLiz♥ Looking good for her Jim
She'll be muttoned.
