Oh, and those sticky yellow fly lapses - does anyone use them nowadays? It's not very attractive home decor to have strips of sticky tape hanging from the ceiling with dead insects stuck to them...
Yes we do. They're not very pretty, agreed, but this year we've been bombarded with flies, and the damn things actually give a nasty nip too. We have fly nets up at all the windows we open and the little buggers still get in😂
Living in the country in France, we have cows and horses surrounding us so I suppose it goes with the territory. Boy, it's been a hot summer this year, 8 weeks now with barely any rain, so I'm actually looking forward to some slighly cooler weather. (Sorry, off topic)
I have had an invasion nightmare this summer. Usually get something weird every year (last year it was some weird black bee things from the chimney) because it's an old Victorian garden flat with a basement, and all us neighbours get 'things' from time to time that get in from the garden or that travel between all our terraces . But. this year it's been everything in one.
Moths
Woodlice (they are quite cute, mind, and not destructive)
Flies
Slugs ( shudder. discovered I had a leak problem on one bathroom wall and bathroom is next to garden but god knows where they are getting in. It is disgusting)
Cockroaches (double shudder) who seemed to be living in the same wall where the leak was. Never had them before but a couple of my neighbours have, so ...ugh. I offed them with bicarb - seems to have done the trick.)
So spiders are the least of my worries - am usually glad to see them now, coming up to autumn. They hang in massive webs by our bins though and freak my upstairs neighbour out.
Comments
Thanks. ;-)
