I love the shoes. The flat white ones for me are the best. Does anyone own a pair . Old shoes but still going strong.

Prefer Vans myself, more comfy & better build quality. But converse are okay as well.

Funnily enough, I bought my first pair yesterday, total impulse buy, and I love them!

I'm a big fan of converse, very few brands make shoes I like in my massive size 14. Got about 7-8 pairs? I think, possibly one or two older pairs lying around. I like my limited edition red and black leather ones the most, picked them up in the states a few years ago. They're on the 3rd sole now, but i'm quite simply not getting rid of them until the shoe repair man tells me that there is nothing more he can do :)

    My converses are customised.

I have a pair which are quite 'chavvy' as they have crystals on the front. I don't have the gumption to wear them in public.

I have several pairs. My favourite for sentimental reasons are my red ones which were my first ever pair!

I wanted a pair of the black ones but all they had in stock was red so i got them even though i wasnt keen on the colour. I dont recall a day once i had bought them that i didnt wear them! I wore them with everything.

About ten years on and i still havent gotten around to buying the traditional black ones. I have plenty of bright ones though! And a pair of monochrome ones for interviews, work and funerals!

Converse is a make of shoe? Correct? I've never heard of them.

This isn't some sort of inside out back to front type of shoe? Yes?

I had a pair as a nipper (although I don't remember them being referred to as converse then) and wore them 'til they fell apart.

I did Google them/it, but I've never seen them before.

I've got some walking boots, which are as old as I am (50 years) and still going strong. Conversely, this Converse footwear is not going to last any time that long.

And yes, they have been used a fair bit. An example.

Is there an age limit to wearing Converse?

They look good, but I don't think they're a good quality shoe for the price. I much prefer skate shoes like Duffs or Vans, purely because they're more comfortable. Converse feel very flimsy and flat soled to me, they're no good for supporting a high arch and I find that style of shoe tends to blister my ankle from the friction because the material is so thin.

You'll have seen them before if you've left your house in the last ten years. They must be the most recognisable and popular shoe in recent history - if I was to walk through my local shopping mall on a Saturday, I'd likely see at least 20 people wearing them.

I've only seen them mentioned on DS. I wear Hush Puppies leather shoes. I did google it but wouldn't wear them. They look like trainers. I wouldn't wear them either.

Fair does, but tbh I don't really tend to notice makes of shoe. A shoe is a shoe, as far as I'm concerned.

I honestly find this hard to believe,it would make you one of the most unobservant people ever! But if it is true I hope you are never called in as a police witness.

"oh yeah I think I saw him... almost certainly human... at least two legs... um, he was wearing clothes, or not I didn't notice.."

Way to (completely) misread a post. I said makes of shoes, not whether they were wearing shoes. Big difference.

I have a grey pair that I often wear with jeans and a T-shirt in the spring / summer. They're ideal if you're going for an easy, relaxed look.

    a) I was obviously joking, hence the handy smiley I added - or did you really think I think you wouldn't know how many legs a person had? and

    b) that is all

    Ok c..

    c) have you never seen back to the future?
