Loved that episode. Probably the best this series and one of the best overall of the 2 series. Can't wait to watch it again when it airs on Ch5 (I want to give the show viewers so they know it is popular in the UK and they air all series here, preferably a few days after the aus airing). Loving Joan but I still wish they would have kept erica or at least finished her story better. The only thing I am not liking is that it looks like the downfall of Franky is coming and I love her character, I am hoping at the end of this she just loses her place as top dog but stays in the show as I think she is great, maybe she could realise that what liz said last series about her being stronger with bea is true and they form an alliance. Felt sorry for Franky with what happened though
It would have been interesting if they had gone through with the rape to see how it effects her, she has escaped that fate twice now, to see if it made her put up more of a front or become depressed and quit being top dog. I would prefer that than to see her fight Bea which is where this is leading.

I just wonder how long Joan will last. Will she be a one season wonder like Jac's or will they stretch her out into season three?
The fact she is a murderer now and a very obvious psychopath puts her on borrowed time I think. Pamela was been truly amazing in this role. Almost topping Maggie's version.
I liked the character of Erica in Wentworth. I think what was good there, was that she was flawed and made mistakes, meaning the prisoners were actually the ones in charge (despite what Erica thinks) - to me this is what Prisoner/Wentworth is all about!
The new Joan is so clever and controlling and always seems to win. Geez we can't have that. I am hoping things start to unravel for her. Probably likely given twists in the storylines of the program...
Yes the male officer was called STEVE Fawkner.
After the strict security and endless searches of series one (security was so tight they needed to have a little girl swallow drugs followed by laxatives in order to get drugs in) the super lax security surrounding the garden shed with Franky's drug contact doing deals with Franky, then receiving oral sex from Boomer at least twice, and then having further protracted scenes with Franky took some suspension of disbelief. Not complaining though.

I think she'll last a bit longer than Jacs, Joan is too big a fixture in Prisoner-lore for her to be brought in so soon only to be used for one series, I think. I can imagine the climax of the current series centering around Joan becoming 'The Freak' and Bea becoming 'Queen Bea', and the third series building up to the climax of their inevitable battle. Obviously we, as viewers, are by now well aware of Joan's true nature, but I don't think her villainy is cemented enough within the context of the show for her to bow out quite so soon, and I don't think there's enough time left in this series for that to change. There just seems to be far too much that still needs to come to fruition first for her exit to be just six or so episodes away. I think she needs to have a real 'reign of terror' before her story can come to any satisfying conclusion.
As I said, I think the finale of series 2 will see Bea toppling Franky and becoming top dog, whilst, at the same time, Joan's sadistic nature becomes clear to the prisoners and officers. This would set us up nicely for a Bea vs Joan arc to take us through series 3 and possibly lead into a riot/fire/other disaster, which would also fit in with the possibility of the show ending after three series', as some have theorised, or the set rebuild that will be required if the show continues.
So Vinegar Tits is born! I think judging from Vera's comments to Linda and Maxine at the end of the episode her transformation has began. Felt really sorry for her this week.
Loved the Frankie and Joan scene. Frankie is so stupid though. Joan only told her about the lagger because Frankie was too close to the truth and Frankie is so thick she didn't realise!
I can see what Bea is up to!! Almost seems too obvious..I hope we get some more unexpected twists and turns!
I am kinda hoping it doesn't just become Bea vs Franky but looks like Joan will do whatever she can!!
Comments
Good. This episode really deserved it as it changed the entire set up of the show!
Did you not realise who it was
It was Ray aka Alex Menglet! lol

That's him? Blimey, I didn't recognise him.

I loved Gem in Neighbours and she's perfect for Wentworth.

Simone is a great character. Love her!
I also love Maxine. Her portrayer Socratis Otto was recently also in (excellent) Australian TV movie 'Carlotta' - playing a member of Carlotta's camp set and one of the few men in the film never to appear in feminine garb. http://localtoday.com.au/lifestyle/film-tv/139250-socratis-otto-talks-carlotta-wentworth.html

Bea v Franky boiling nicely ready to be unleashed very soon
And what else can be said about Ferguson, the black gloves FINALLY make an appearance during an episode
Can't see this Ferguson being taken away in the back of a police car, I think she will perish at some point next season if she is still around by then
Bea becoming top dog is getting closer, have a great feeling these last few episodes are going to be corkers
DVD for series 2 is on amazon and out end of November so late august/early September time I say.
Either the first or 2nd week of September is my prediction as the re-run of series 1 ends then on channel 5 (as far as I know)

Yeah! so that makes both her and Joan killers!
