I think the Juries screwed Russia.

They should have screwed both (ie Sweden) or neither ;)

    Disappointing evening.

Can't believe Italy didn't give Elhaida any points, though! She won The Voice of Italy :o! And Maria Elena should have done so much better.

I suspect they topped the votes but failed in the Juries.

    From ORF:
    Congratulations Sweden, Russia and Italy
And we are at least on par with Germany ;-)

Overrun by 30 minutes. ORF really were crap. At least we can be sure Sweden will be competent hosts.

Right placing for UK, Guy Freeman take note! On the plus side we can't blame not getting any points on not having neighbours - look at Australia!

I think we learned that it doesn't matter on running order to win anyway

And Italy going last shows people don't turn off and get bored like we thought last year.

Out of the top 2 I would have preferred Russia but I liked Sweden.

After the top 10 the scores really plummeted!! Glad israel, Latvia, Estonia and Belgium did so well :)

It's official, it's no longer a song contest, it's a graphic artist and set designing contest.

Not really surprised but I hate the way the fetishisation of the Swedish Melfest by the fans has killed the contest. Sweden could submit a parrot reciting the Stockholm phone directory and the fans will Sherman tank themselves into a frenzy about it.

Our result is absolutely no surprise and we'll continue to send duds because the BBC don't want to spend any money on it.

It's a bit ho hum overall.

I know what you mean, especially because the Swedish graphics are very instant, but don't stand up to repeat viewings, which is why a lot of fans actually went off it this week. It just wasn't as interesting to us.

The results were great, I thought.

So happy to see Israel, Belgium and Estonia rewarded. Surprised at Germany's 0 and saddened at poor old France, but Italy's turnaround (21st to 3rd) shows success is only ever one decent song away.

UK got what it deserved - I think it's a miracle we weren't rubbing shoulders with Austria and Germany after our performance.

Agree with you wombat but have you heard the song which came 2nd in Melfest? Everything that Heroes isn't and in Swedish. There maybe some hope for the future......but I doubt it. :(;-)
