Unfortunately i'm thinking that in parts of the show they will stop for a breather and will be asked the ubiquitous question of 'What will you do with the money if you win?"

I do agree that sounds boring and most people watching are unlikely to care (maybe later on in the series they would a little bit)

I cannot be ask to trawl through the rest of the thread, but I hear its now going to be on for an hour :o
Obviously more chat & probably easier questions as well.
The WG Stewart version was in my eyes the best quiz we have had on TV especially in its purest form.
This extended version with a new presenter will probably be a pale imitation of the original, having appeared twice on the original I did get an application form but never bothered filling it in, fingers crossed I am totally wrong & it turns out to be good viewing.
The main reason it worked first time round was the excellent presenter & fast flowing questions in the 30 min show, as neither of those are present this time round I don't expect too much I have to say.

If I undersdtood her correctly on The One Show the new series still has the 3 second timeout for answering - which is nice.

Also, apparently there is a 3rd generation contestant.

If that's true, and they haven't changed the basic format of the quiz, there's an awful lot of extra time to fill, going from thirty minutes to an hour.
Get ready for lots of witty anecdotes and interesting facts from the host, and hilarious "banter" between the host and the contestants...

And this is the biggest difference from the WGS years.

So, from a tight general knowledge quiz played to win a piece of history, you now go on to win cash, it gets bloated out to an hour, has a presenter in Toksvig who has as much gravitas as a ten day old turd and who wants to know contestants "dreams?....

    Ye gods.

Perhaps it is unfair to judge the programme before we've seen it. .

Unfortunately I think we have more than enough to go on for fans of the original to be very disappointed, and possibly angry once the first episode has been aired that the 15 to 1 name has been attached to this garbage.

Good question. Is anyone ever interested in the background stories of various contestants??

    Not me... it's all filler

On the old version of 15-1 the only information shown about the constestants was name, job an hometown

Unless you were one of the final three, when you got a couple of sentences of biog from the voiceover person (which was snipped if it was a longish final - you always knew in advance :))

Yes, I think you may be right. Like all the interminable waffle on DOND. Yawn.

Sandi needs to cut out the additional trivia after each question.

I don't know if the questions are a bit dumber but I have known every one so far.

I'm not liking this. I preferred William G Stewart.

The spontaniety and immediacy, the very life blood and premise of the show has been sucked out of it.

Stop reading the subtitles then ;)

They'll get harder as the show progresses.

It is very slow. The questions seem to be more long winded than they used to be. Add in Sandi's pearls of wisdom after every other question and the first round of questions must have taken twice as long as it used to. I mean we're fifteen minutes in and they've not even finished the first round yet.
