I remember the British media having a go at the Chinese when a similar thing happened in Beijing.
But what on earth is our excuse. I thought tickets were incredibly hard to come by. Yet it turns out most of them have been scooped up or given to corporate interests, and most of them couldn't be bothered to show up.
Maybe if they'd allowed the actual public to buy tickets (without limiting the supply), this wouldn't have happened
