I have seen him being interviewed in the last few days and I have cringed everytime. He was on Lorraine talking to Jackie Brambles yesterday and just didn't show any emotion at all! Very odd.
He came across as a complete bellend on Lorraine the other day. I almost turned over, he was that cringe-worthy. He really didn't seem to want to be there even though they were good enough to give him a platform to flog his God-awful song on. I know their line of questioning can be embarrassing and inane but he should have the manners and maturrity at his age to grin bear it.
It's also weird how he looks so much like his dad but doesn't have any of what made Paul handsome or charasmatic.

Strange man, agreed/
I agree, terribly odd indeed. He was the same on the Late Late show in Ireland. The interviewer had to drag a response out of him and he came accross as if he didn't want the bother of being spoken to. Let's face it, if his papa wasn't Paul he wouldn't get a look in on Xfactor.
He obviously knows and deeply resents the fact that he wouldn't be given the time of day if he wasn't Sir Paul's son. I'd feel some sort of sympathy if he wasn't such an arsehole about it, and such a terrible singer.

You'd think Paul would be coaching him to be a bit more media savvy - after all, Paul has always been incredibly conscious of how to work with the media. His son is an interviewer's nightmare.

It's really weird.
Imagine if Paul had been similar back in the 1960s. The Beatles would never have taken off at all, let alone lasted.
James needs to take more notice of how what made it work for his dad.
What makes it even stranger is he's clearly got an ego on him - "If anything, I would love to be equal to The Beatles - but even that's quite tough" (I love that 'even'!) - so his apparent inability to show the slightest bit of charm just makes him seem sadly deluded!
Apprently, Richard Bacon found him hard work on his radio show. I didn't listen to the show but I downloaded his podcast and he mentioned how difficult it was interviewing him.
Haven't seen him on any tv shows but watched a clip on youtube and I'm with you. Shy, awkward, sensitive, not a natural charmer or people pleaser and very aware of the baggage attached to him. I didn't get ego at all, more just wanting to get on with the music, the thing he has confidence in. When more relaxed, I bet he's quite droll.
I quite liked the song, and his voice. He's certainly not talentless. Good luck to him.
I had never even heard of the man, but just saw a clip on YT and you're right, it is very cringe worthy. Poor interviewer, must have been like pulling teeth.

Well if he wants to make it in the music industry he will have to develope a 'personality' of sorts. Otherwise he should just stay in his studio with his music and just get on with it. I have never, ever bought the whole " I'm shy stchick" with folk who put themselves forward in the entertainment industry. I found him embarrassing and very much lacking in charm or dare I say it, common courtesy!!

BIB - Sure, I agree. And it's a fair point re entertainers.
All I'm saying is he didn't come across to me as if he was bestowing a great favour on them by his very presence! He just seemed a bit awkward, a bit of an odd ball. He seemed much more comfiortable when he was performing.

The ego point was about the quote. And as for his diffidence, if he was in his twenties it would be easier to understand but he's in his thirties, has lived an extraordinarily privileged life and now has his dad's PR people around him, so it's not unrealistic to expect a bit more of an effort from him.
I'm old enough to remember his Mum, Linda when she got together with Paul. Very similar personality as I recall, who couldn't carry a tune in a bucket, but was always hanging around in the background somewhere getitng in the on the act. James seems to have inherited her traits poor lad.

Nothing natural or spontaneous about this chap, is there?

he hated ever minute of being there
he was to stoned to respond to any questions
he just couldn't be *rsed
tbf the interviewer was an idiot made some reference to the Beatles getting together except for two of them being dead.:eek::eek:
