Help with Siemens door chime

We have had a Siemens door chime for over 16months, as the battery on the bell push needed changing we appear to have lost the setting for the chime we were fond of.
The model is DCWF21 which has a choice of 8 chime/rings to select from.
Having followed the instructions to set our favourite chime, we just can't get the chime we want to permanently, it keeps going through all of them.
Anyone got any ideas?
thanks

Either it's faulty or you are missing a step of the instructions or there is a switch of some description to randomly select the chime like shuffle play on mp3 players.

We have tried everything, there is a switch which we tried and that didn't work either. Worked perfectly well until the battery was replaced.

Maybe this does a factory reset or something?

I don't know. I didn't know door bells could be so complicated. :D

Does their website have one of those "live chat" help desk things that you could ask on?

There's a link to the instructions for the doorbell on this page:

You could try removing the batteries from both the chime and bell push units and after reinserting them following the digital code set-up procedure. Maybe try new batteries in the chime unit too?

We have those instructions but thank you for taking the time and effort to help.
We have tried everything now, feel like lashing it down the path:p

Sounds as if the unit is just faulty, then. Time for a new doorbell! :D

    Or a knocker :D

That's the better option, can't be doing this for a flaming door bell:D
