Looks to be on air now - not able to decode any services so could be just null packets at the moment

It is "null packets" at the moment. It goes live 25/03/14.

It mirrors what's been happening at the other transmitter sites prior to COM7 launch.

In most locations, it seems COM8 is switched off following COM7 launch.

I suppose COM8 can be switched on across most of the UK at the press of a button once COM7 is full.

I thought they may have tested it beforehand. Any idea on what time it will be switched on? Early AM? Lunch?

The last two sites that launched earlier this month, Rowridge and Hannington were switched on late/morning to noon ish.

There have been some blank carriers for it (and COM8) before - my TV Card also recorded PSB3 on that frequency at one point (I'm not sure if that was a real test or it playing silly beggers though).

You were quick with that post! Started between 10:05 and 10:10! Interestingly my media centre is reporting a signal strength of 100% vs 82% for PSB 3

Signal 91%, Quality 85% on Community HD but AJ and BBC News are 95% Quality, in South Leicester with a band c/d aerial.

Would Community HD be using a different FEC setting?

If your STB or IDTV is listed in the link below you probably won't get any com7 channels no matter where you are.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/faqs/loss_bbchd_channels

NB: The list does not include the Tesco Technika STBHDV2010 which is also affected.
