The soldiers, referred to as soldiers X, Y and Z, appeared in court in Sennelager.
Soldier X admitted pulling an Afghan boy's hand towards his crotch while saying "touch my special place".
He pleaded guilty to "conduct to the prejudice of good order and service discipline".
The offence took place while he was on tour in Afghanistan in December 2011. He also admitted insulting another Afghan child between 16 October 2011 and 6 January 2012.

Hopefully there aren't more cases like this, but I fear there may be. Apparently there are a string of claims relating to abuse carried out on Afghan civilians which are being looked in to.
Not the way to go in winning the hearts and minds of the Afghan people and the wider muslim world.

When you're away from home sexually starved, it's probably natural to want to do ill deeds to other people to satisfy your cravings.
Not in the normal world it isn't!
That is outrageous . This is the British Army , who 99pc of the time wouldn't even entertain the notion of raping an Afghan woman.
Shame on you disgraceful
No offence but I find that highly unlikely, certainly not as a regular occurrence anyway.
Just saying it's a probability, not that every solider is like that
As I've said before and I will say it again, this whole war is a bloody mess. The sooner the families of soldiers speak up and demand those serving relatives to be brought home. This isn't working out well for any party, be it civilians, soldiers (many many deaths so far) families of soldiers etc, the list is endless.
More of this kinda thing seems likely to keep happening, everyone involved it simply losing it. I think we are even beyond the blame game now, can we just exit this mess and call it quits?
We all know the taliban are never going to give up. So what is the long term plan? Try to out last the Taliban and hope they crumble?
Well the longer we persist in this misadventure, the more opportunity you give people in the muslim world to build up resentment and hate towards the west. It is about time people acknowledge this!
Sorry, updated my original post. It's breaking news on the bbc.

Do understand what probability actually means?
It most certainly is not a probability!
Absolute, complete and utter nonsense.
I've spent most of my adult life in jobs where I'm away from home for long periods and, thus far, I've yet to experience the urge to go out and rape or molest somebody and, from the thousands of people I've met in similar situations, I've yet to hear of anybody else having those urges either.
Seriously, do you think that adult soldiers who get loaded onto a plane, flown into a war-zone, trying to avoid getting shot or blown-up, spend a huge amount of time thinking "ZOMG!! I've just gotta get my rocks off!!!"?
How old are you? 14?
Well we don't know how far the sexual abuse has gone, but i see the poster's logic. You are away a long time and not getting regular sexual activity, you can become somewhat messed up. Happens in prisons too.
But yeah it shouldn't automatically mean, go and rape or abuse someone. You need to have a measure of self control surely??
I would go as far as to say that in certain war zones, prostitutes can make a lot of money but I would say that the odds of your regular squaddie thinking 'If I don't get a shag soon, I'm going to rape the first person I meet man woman or child' are negligible!
And most soldiers, just like most men in any other walk of life, have that self control. And in most cases don't actually need it, as normal men are rarely, if ever, tempted to commit such crimes. Normal people want consensual sex with another adult.
Between 25-27 I didn't get any at all, sex starved I certainly was; a potential rapist I certainly wasn't!
This (not yours MAW) attitude beggars belief!!
Having said that, which I agree with, it's not just about rape or sexual frustration.. It's sometimes about abusing your power, position to hurt and abuse vulnerable people. Clearly this is what has happened in this situation.
But I read a piece a few weeks ago, and there is an investigation going on, because there have been a lot of claims of abuse on Afghan civilians which Britain has been urged to speed up. I think this example is the result of this investigation.
So I wouldn't be surprised if more cases like this come to light.
But sexual assault is what this thread is about (as well as responding to the idiotic post made by another FM), not general abuse of power!
I'm not sure many armies in that part of the world are as strict with their disciplinary policies.
I never said general abuse of power. I said using power and authority to commit acts of abuse. This is what can happen in a war situation like this, yes sexual assault, rape are examples, but in this case, it points to sexual abuse, rather than assault, unless I haven't got the definition of assault quite right.
So I fear more is yet to come out. It's not going to put us in a good light, in the muslim world.
Ok but unfortunately the discussion has now moved into the realms of the likelihood of British military personnel committing rape and assault because they are sex starved.
What a ridiculous comment. You're basically trying to justify rape and molesting children. Disgraceful
Sexual abuse is often about power rather than sexual gratification.
I'm sure, but that isn't what the thread is about nor what I am responding to! I'm not debating the nature of sexual abuse just this assault!
No i'm not
