Take a look at @tessamunt's Tweet: https://twitter.com/tessamunt/status/589808265422315520?s=09
It apparently seems that in 2013 a tory minister sent a letter to Liberal Democrat MP Tessa Munt explaining the impracticality of housing associations being pressured by govt to sell their housing stock..
Oh dear they actually in the recent past agreed with what many of their critics of the policy today are saying! 😁

Guardian article on this development.
A bit sneaky leaking ministerial correspondence too.
Sneaky but not illegitmet?
They may have changed their mind but I'd like to see a reasoned explanation of how the practical difficulties have been "overcome ".
They have been over come by forcing councils to flog off their best homes and using the proceeds to bailout the housing associations. A thoroughly disgraceful policy - but it will no doubt win votes.
Possibly although I don't think it's gained anything like the amount of support and traction that the tories had hoped for.
I wonder if The Guardian will support the Lib Dems again at this election?
Tory sell-off policy will set the public purse up for HIGH financial liabilities.
Kris Hopkins not in favour of Right-to-Buy bribe - soon removed as housing minister
Thankfully, current incumbent Mark Prisk entirely toes the line and talks some marvellous bullsh*t. His job is safe so long as the Tories are re-elected.
(Kris Hopkins actually seemed quite switched on, knowledgeable and reasonable, and made a number of sensible proposals. However, these aren't really ministerial qualities in modern politics)
Hopefully their not elected or the housing associations are screwed.
